I tried installing microsoft office compatibility pack on my PC
which has windows xp sp2 from microsoft download center..but its not installing..
i need to open word 2007 document..plzz help.

i have jus formatted my system so i dont have any office 2003 on my pc..and moreover openoffice .org is taking much time to download(5hr )

Wish you had detailed what kind of error or issue you have with the install....

I am assuming that you have Office 20003 on your PC. You need that to use the compatibility pack.

Go to http://openoffice.org and download the free Open Office program. It is an Office clone which is able to open Word 2007 documents. Does everything that MS Office does, just for free.

I second that one Dewcoons, openoffice is used by my kids on this computer and they love it, infact my oldest son rekons it is better that the office series sold by microsoft.

If open office is taking 5hrs to download then i would suggest there is something wrong with your system as mine only took max 15 minutes to download and instal.
