Atheists: Only God can create. Im just trying to understand what you believe. When man "creates" he is simply making, he is taking existing material and changing it into new material. Same thing goes with making babies, humans already have the sperm and the egg. We just combine it to make the new person. Well even if you don't agree with me I have so much love for ya, and have a great day today!!

Wes- hey friend, you didn't create it, you just made it out of the letters on your keyboard and your computer interface, already existing materials.

Trouble is, we know that humans exist, whereas we don't have any valid reason to suppose that any gods exist.

Are you between the stupid people that have faith a tornado blew by way of a junk backyard and created one thousand computers that have been able to self mirror and then build different computers? Evolution is a ludicrous advice. Nature does not instruct evidence (lots) of it except you have a inventive mind's eye. the place are each and every of the billions of vestigal limbs and organs that should exist. for each effectual sensible mutation there must be billions of unsuccessful ones that did not kill the animal. Evolution is puke. i'm a NON-evolutionist. I make NO claims on understanding how we've been given here. yet provide me a greater rational rationalization than evolution. Its .. frankly.. only stupid.

To create means to make something out of nothing. This capability is proper to God alone. Humans transform things that God has created and they make them into something else. For example, God created the trees and man transforms them into paper or furniture or chairs or tables, etc. People procreate but cannot strictly speaking create something. That is if you take the definition of create in a philosophical or in the metaphysical sense of the word. But if you take create in a different sense then people create things all the time like films, or stuff. But strictly speaking they are not really creations, they are merely transformations of things which already exist. Only God can create things out of nothing.

To arrive at any kind of answer to this question one would have to satisfactorily define precisely what one means by :

a. 'God'

b. 'Create'

Everything is made of energy, right ?

Energy can be neither 'created' nor 'destroyed',it can only 'change' from one state to another, right ?

So the real question is "What makes energy change into matter ?"

In any physical 'reality' sense this must be the key factor in identifying who is doing the 'creating' of matter out of energy.

Quantum physicists are in the process, right now, of building ever bigger 'Particle Accelerators', in Geneva and Wisconsin, for example, in order to try to pin down many of the more illusive elements of particle physics, or 'Quantum Mechanics' as it is better known.

One of the really critical elements centres on a 'particle' which is, at present anyway, purely theoretical, the Higgs-Boson particle. This is the particle that allows 'Mass' to form, and without it there could be no 'matter' at all.

This particle is often referred to as 'The God Particle'.

Interesting, eh ?

I will hazard a little prediction about all this.

The Higgs-Boson particle is just a physics way of expressing the catalytic action of 'human' Thought. It is already well established that the action of 'observing' has the effect of 'collapsing' the 'wave form', and engaging the particulate. This means, literally, allowing energy to 'become' matter. When energy is in it's 'wave form' it is infinite potentiality to 'become' anything at all, it is at that moment of observation that the 'switch' is made into particulate, or 'solidity'.

The 'leap' of understanding that has not yet been made and published, is that this is it, the 'Great Wahoola', it is the action of observing that causes energy to 'condense' into 'matter' !

We humans are the Higgs-Boson 'particle'.

We are, by our observations, 'creating', all of the 'time', in fact we are even 'creating 'Time' as well !

Ergo ..... well, you know what ? I'll leave the ergo for you to decide. :-)))

Sorry what? You're giving words new definitions by the looks of it.

Why are you telling atheists that only your god can create? Whether you believe your god can create matter from absolutely nothing or create a rock bigger than he can pick up is of no consequence to us, we don't believe that your god exists.

The initial question is idiotic anyway. We can't create something from nothing because it's physically impossible to, did you skip science because you already had your Bible to explain away reality with fairy tales?

Have you ever seen "Scientific" descriptions of Things?
Pretty intense. You have to get Every Description "just right" in order for another Scientist to be Able to UnderStand exactly what you are Describing.

In Order to Create, you have to get Every Detail Exactly Right.
Right Down to "Infinite".
If you don't do this, you might just mess something Else Up, a couple of Million Miles (ooops! Years!) down the Road.
And, it won't Work Right Either!
Too Much for Human Beans to Fathom!

Humans CAN create -- we were given the power by God (or by evolution, or by both) to create ideas. Sometimes these ideas are given physical form by altering existing materials, and sometimes they aren't. But ideas are real, and we can create them.
