I have asked this question before - no answers. I have this sudden craving for Jalepeno Peppers in everything I eat and I am definitely NOT pregnant. Can anyone shed a light on this?

Capsaicin stimulates the brain to excrete endorphin and gives a sense of pleasure when ingested. You get a a kind of euphoric feeling once the heat subsides. This is one of the reasons people get addicted to chili.

Or it might be your body's way of getting more vitamins. Chillies are a great source of Vitamin, A, B, C and E with minerals like molybdenum, manganese, folate, potassium, thiamin, and copper. Chili also contain seven times more vitamin C than oranges.

So whatever the reason listen to your cravings, it's all good.

I've been told that your taste for food changes every so often. You may not have liked jalepeno peppers before but now you love them. Maybe in a couple months, you wont crave them as bad, and pick up another food that you'll be craving! It's a natural thing. When I was a kid, i hated spinach...now i love it! Our tastebuds change with us.

Linda,
Craving for anything in food is usually related to your present diet. I suspect that your diet is rather bland and your body is calling for a little spicier flavor. Try other spices along with the jalapenos and you will find a lot more satisfaction with your diet. One of my favorite flavor explosions is Cajun rub, that you can buy at any grocery store. This stuff is got everything in it. Great on Fish and Meats.

Normally we crave things that contain nutrients or substances that the body is lacking. I don't think its serious....if you are craving something then your body obviously needs it. Once your body had got what it needs then you won't crave them anymore.

I do understand why you're craving them tho- YUMMY!!

Try find out what they have in them that your body could be lacking. Otherwise maybe your just wanting that extra flavour or you could have had a hormone change. I started craving spicy food after i had a baby.
