I've just got a ps3 and so far its so much better than the XBOX 360!! I had to buy a additional HD DVD drive for my 360 to get HD DVDs - i then exchanged the drive for a ps3, wich has a built in Blu ray player!
Any one else out there that beleives the PS3 is better than the XBOX.
as far as im concerned im not going back with microsoft, because their stuff is rubish! i get the ring of death on the xbox and windows keeps crashing when i plug in a device made by MICROSOFT!! "unkown publisher"...
And please, no fundalmentist xbox fans - I too own a xbox360 and i know what it can do, so dont preach!

To be honest, I don't think it matters what the console's "power" is, more of the gameplay available. I haven't got a PS3 as of yet, but I have played on one more than once. I played Sonic and NBA. I didn't like sonic, but then again since Sonic Adventure, I've not been a fan.
The only reason I would buy a PS3 is to play Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII when they're out.
I'm not a fan of any console directly, but I have to say in terms of gameplay the xbox 360 does win at the moment. The PS3's games list really needs to be extended. This is why I chose an Xbox over the Playstation.
About the HD-DVD player too - the HD-DVD player is only really needed if you were to play HD-DVD videos. The reason why this was cut out of the original design is because HD technology was kind of expensive when the xbox was first released. So, it seemed a bit of a waste to have it. As the PS3 was about 450 when first released, you can see why MS decided not to have the drive in.
Also, did you get the ring of death? It's a shame that happened. I've heard that if it was in between a two dates (I think Jul - Oct 2006), there was a problem with the solder quality or something.
I really hope that Sony can pull the PS3 off a little more. I personally don't dislike it, I'm just waiting for a real reason to buy it. I really liked having the PSx and the PS2 Gameplay was good on both. So, let's hope that the games get better and that game developers will finally unleash the power that the PS3 really has with the Cell processor. :-)

When I thought of getting new console I compared both consoles "fair'n'square". Came out that PS3 is better. I own it for 6 months and I'm really happy. It was the same story with PS2. Microsoft goods always end up in trash. Not that I'm Sony's fanboy, it's just Microspot's inability to accomplish anything in a good way - Windows sucks (except NT series, but they require some work too), their consoles fry themselves up, their software is a collection of bugs and lags. The only good thing I have from Microsoft is my good ol' trackball mouse (I have it for more than 6 years - great for FPS)! PS3 is stronger, better, more reliable. More than 300 games are coming!

I think that the PS3 IS the better console. However, the Xbox 360 has more and better games (in my opinion). I also think that the games are the important part of the console. That it why I can't decide on which one to buy. But I know I want to get one of them, because of Assassin's Creed.

i knew it was better since day one ... alone i was in many an argument defending the ps3 ..... thank you brother lol
one the ps3 may be more .... but it will never crash on you .... it costs more because they put more into making it ... all microsoft cared about was sales so they rushed the 360, why do you think so many ppl complain about it ... so far i dont know one person with a 360 that didnt have to get it repaired .... oh and why else would microsoft make a new 360???

yup i kind of think that ps3 is better then the xbox if u look carefully the 360 cost more like xbox live which u need to pay yearly to play online HD DVD drive just to watch hd dvd movies and all sort of feature.

I was a playstation fan when ps1 came out and i still have one that works.... i was a playstation fan when ps2 came out and i still have one that works (the bigger one too not the slim).... I was a playstation fan when ps3 came out and i have one that works i have never had a playstation/sony product brake or stop working because sony takes a lot of time and effort unlike microsoft to put into thier product.... Sony Playstation fan i am and always will be SONY PLAYSTATION RULES.... XBOX/MICROSOFT SUCKS

Yes, I've been with Sony since PS1. It's a tradition for Sony to make the greatest console every generation. I agree with you though Playstation 3 rules all gaming consoles.

im a playstation diehard so i dont even care about the xbox. i dont have a ps3 yet, but when i get the money, thats what ill be buying. not an xbox or a wii. im a playstation pureist. cant wait for RATCHET AND CLANK!!!

the ps3 is the best out there the only problems where the price which has fallen the no vibration which now thanks to the new dualshock3 is no longer a problem and the titles out but that happens with all new consoles and the ones that are out like resistance and warhawk are really very good
