It probably would, but you would have to change the computer, wiring, and engine mounts. It might bolt up to the existing transmission, but there is a good chance that it wouldn't.

I read some years ago that the 3.9 V-6 had the same bellhousing pattern as the 5.2 V-8. I own two 3.9 V-6's and more 5.2's (318 cu.in.) than I can count on one hand . . . . . and I've never taken any measurements to see if this is true but my source is "Mopar Muscle" magazine. In short a 3.9 is a 5.2 minus two cylinders. Even if they bolt up there are a lot of other factors that come into the equation, horsepower variables, engine and transmission controllers, cooling system differences, wiring to above mentioned controllers. Could be a major headache if you're not experienced.

It really depends - Ma Mopar has built a lot of V6 and V8 designs over the years.

The 3.9 is basically a cut down smallblock and shares bolt patterns with the 273, 318 (5.2), 340, and 360 (5.9). The new Hemi's bolt pattern is similar. The 3.7 may share bolt patterns with the 4.7 SOHC V8, but I haven't confirmed that one. The other Dodge V6s, to the best of my knowledge, don't share bolt patterns with any V8. And the big blocks (440 Wedge, 383, 426 Hemi) and early Hemis don't share bolt patterns with any V6.

nicely if the transmission became used on the two engines then definite that is swapped. purely carry out a little homework as to what sort transmission became initially with the engine till now to attempt and get rid of or purchase the climate.

The Magnum engines, 3.9, 5.2, 5.9 all have the same boltup.
You figure out the rest.
