Go for it. You mentioned more prospects? Think of it as an investment in your current health and well being, AND an investment in future wealth. Don;t forget if you earn less, you don't pay as much tax! Any way you can cut back on non essentials? £2000 over year may not be too bad to lose.

$2000/yr = less than $39.00/week or $166.66 a moth less revenue.
For $50/mo you can learn to do ceramics, dance, photography, and put $100.00/mo in your savings(CD, MUTUALS)
in my experience people that get fed up with one job get fed up with all their jobs, is just a matter of time, including me.
Fed up is a mind job. I have worked in great companies where every one is happy (few complainers excepted) then boom 3 years later the boss died of a heart attack then the company got sold badda bing badda bam soon everyone was really unhappy.
You can always find ways to find happiness; therapy, meditation, outside accomplishments, blah blah
But you can not change the money they will pay you.

Do not buy into the myth that you can find job satisfaction, that is like the pig being satisfied at the state of business at IHOP, don't ever tell them that but you will be more apt to deal with work in a happy manner if you are accomplishing things outside work: camping, school, gardening, writing a book, volunteering, saving the spoted leopards, balh blah

That great place where you will be making $2000 less can change in a way that wil make you unhappy for one you will be working with others that are underpaid also, that is not a happy crowd.
The only time where it pays to down grade is if that job is the only way to get the experience or credits to get in a very near future(1 year or less) another job where your credentials will catapult you way ahead from where you are now before the downgrade.
good luck and be well and happy

Best advice ever, switch jobs! Imagine cutting your pay bay more than half and that is what I have done ($53,000 to $23,000). Yeah, that is sucking it up.

Now imagine years into the future and compare what you see if you stay at your current job or switch.

Trust me, health is more important than money and without pleasure you will lose your mental health over time. Unlike your body, it can only get so strong before it starts to break down-slowly. Take a chance at living blissfully.

Working on a job with a very low level of satisfaction and happiness - is staying cozy in one's comfort zone. It boils down to fear of the unknown working environment one may be transferring to. Being unhappy and fed up is normal.

Somebody said that INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THINGS EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS. I know that you are still SANE - only fed up and unhappy.

You don't have to stay working in that kind of situation; or else you will just be mentally dishonest to your own self.

Go ahead fire your present boss and go accept the new job. It is time that you stand up and be counted amongst the very few who have courage to map out their future. Not until you spread your wings and go for it will you ever know how far and how high you can fly.

Anyways, before firing your present boss, be sure that you already received your new appointment and assignment to start working with the new company.

If its gonna be yours, your success or failure is all up to you!

you said yourself that though the present job opportunity offers less salary than your current work, in time you will be able to climb the corporate ladder, and secure a good income.

what are you waiting for... go ahead, pack up your things and start with your new job with the same zeal and passion...
