I can remember going to the arcade in our local mall when I was a kid (1980's through early 90's) and was abosolutely TERRIFIED of this one game. The "insert coin" screens were creepy. I can remeber what those scenes were (for the most part) but not the name of the game. Here is my description:
Scene one: a creepy looking religious person/priest (may have been dressed with a clown mask? can't recall) is shoving this woman down on the ground..trying to stab her with a knife/dagger...when he does succeed, a *thunder clap* happens, the screen goes "negative" and the only thing you see besides a white background and the black shadow outline of the characters is the color red, from the blood from the woman's head. **shudders*
Next scene: some kind of barbarian is wrestling/fighting with a large cat (perhaps a tiger or lion) and the same *thunder clap* and negative shift happens..and the big cat rips off his head..blood spraying everywhere.
This is all I can remember. What game?

Nope, I checked out "Carnival of Death" and thats not the one. I'm certain the game had to do with beasts/goblins/wizzards/warriors, etc...but i dont know where i got the whole clown idea. I think it was just the guy's face as he was bringing the knife down to the woman's head (i can also remember some sort of crunching sound as well..kinda like biting into an apple?)

No, neither of them would be the one. They both came out WAY too late for me to have been a kid at the time of both releases. Thank you anyway.

USA/Upright coin-op/I believe it was a 2-player game..fighting game (like a hybrid between Street Fighter/Zelda?? *scratches head*..all I can REALLY remember is there was A LOT of gore, lots of weird creatures..and some kind of "Conan" guy. Very weird and creepy game (at least to a kid) This has been bugging me for years. They had it in a special location in the arcade, and only let people over (I believe) 16 (?) play it. They didn't even let the little ones like me too near it, or even watch people playing it. (I snuck a peek just that one time without getting caught)..It wasn't Chiller (its graphics weren't that corny) or Slaughterhouse..more "fantasy" oriented.
