Very happy and proud, we got our pit from the pound 3 yrs ago when she was 3 months old and she is the best dog I have ever owned. Right now I am watching our 8 week old rottie, play biting at her face and legs. They are so adorable!

i have a 2 year old staffie, he has the silliest kennel club name that i can't repeat it's so lame.
he has a sense of humour, is proud, protective & obedient.
we've never had a problem with him.
we'd lost 2 beloved dogs in a short space of time & just for once i decided to get a puppy, when i usually lean toward rescuing a dog & giving it a second chance.
& in the local paper the only puppies advertised were staffies.
met the seller in a local pub & brought the most out-going one there.
to be honest he was under-fed, being squashed by a toddler & was split up from his siblings far too early.
the first night he crapped on the bed, never did it again, house-training was easy as he was so eager to please.
only advice i will give freely is
they are not the dog for a first time owner.

If a pitbull is a problem,
it's the fault of the owner not the Dog!
they've got some bad press down to some lousy & useless owners.
i've met some lovely pitbulls, gentle & well behavioured.
it's a shame that some people choose to see only the bad, not the good.
;-)

I have owned Pit Bulls since 1989 and I think they are the best at everything. They can do anything but.......not everyone should own them. I do not breed my dogs very often and I kept 4 out of my last litter over a year ago because I could not find a responsible home. I have a hard time letting people have them. Bulldogs are the most abused dogs in the world.
But they are the smartest most loving, loyal dogs I have owned. I would tell you a story but after almost 20 years I have too many. I now have 12 of them and ofcourse I know that is too many, but I will kept them forever if the right person or family does not come along. I know it's only a dog but I love my dogs. Please everyone breed your dogs less or not at all. We need to get them out of the hands of people who do not understand them and have NO business owning them.

I am a Very happy and proud American Pit Bull Terrier owner. Since I was very young I have always loved the breed. When I was living at home, I tried to convince my parents that they are not the monsters that they thought they were. But they wouldn't listen. So when I finally moved out on my own the first thing I did was adopt a Pit Bull. I searched in the animal shelters for a while until I finally found my perfect dog. I found an adult female American Pit Bull Terriers sitting so nicely in her cage. She was the only dog who wasn't barking. She would just sit nicely in her cage and wag her tail when you talked to her. So i took her outside to see how she interacted with me, and I fell in love. I have had her for 9 months now. She is absolutely the best dog for me. When I got her she had no previous training. She was at the shelter because her previous owners 'had no time for her.' So they didn't work with her at all. After about 2 weeks she was potty trained, learned to heal on a leash, and learned all kinds of new tricks. I now have a very beautiful friendly and obedient family companion. She is just such a joy to be around. She can always make me laugh. And she goes Every where with me! Including my parents house! My parents Finally met a Pit Bull in person. For the first time they actually Pet a pit bull, and they also fell in love. The first time I brought my girl over, within 15 minutes she was sitting on my Mom's lap giving her kisses on her cheek, and my mom was laughing! Now my parents welcome My American Pit Bull Terrier to their house any time. She has become their "grand dog" and those are their words :) I am very lucky to own such a wonderful dog! I really couldn't ask for a better companion!

I do not have a pit bull (or any dog for that matter) - I have always been somewhat afraid of dogs. But, I had a friend that had 3 pits, and they were the sweetest dogs I have ever met! There were the only dogs on the planet that I let jump on me and lick my face, and they were protective of me, but never harmful to others. I am in love with pits, but my hubby still abides by the old stereotypes so I am never allowed to have one.

i like pit bulls. the reason maximum of people are up in palms approximately those puppies are by way of fact they're the "combatants of in the present day." some years in the past it substitute into the Rottweiler. they only found out it rather is far less complicated to make and breed Pits by way of fact they at the instant are not technically a "organic breed" I actual have had many or perhaps nonetheless they did not get alongside great with different canines, they're dependable and comfortable. My 75 lb pit rolls around with my 4 year previous niece like that isn't any massive deal. Having breeded them till now (I have been given my ***** from out of state at a rescue and don't sell the domestic dogs. they're often given to my kinfolk) I actual have seen how unruly the puppies are yet I knowledgeable them. I took accountability for my babies and taught them what's good and incorrect. i do in no way enable a "thug" get one while they do sell. Too many outdoor combatants who, in assessment to those that do it for a living which continues to be terrible, have not any thought what they're doing and finally end up hurting themselves and others fairly than the canines they're attempting to combat. that's one ingredient i will't stand combatants. you place a damaging domestic dog in a pit to kill yet another domestic dog?! poor! i'm hoping somebody throws you in a pit with a pit and enable him tear your in the back of up!!! shop THE PIT BULL babies! VOTE NO ON ANY PROPOSITION THAT DISCRIMINATES BREEDS! those additionally discriminate against GERMAN SHEPARDS AND LABS! Now you are able to not tell me that my massive teddy undergo of a GS is going to harm every person else! this is only idiotic! And definite, My GS and PB stay in the comparable backyard with a Boston Terrier all adult males, and that they don't harm eachother! They weren't raised at the same time the two.

I have an APBT and an Amstaff...both spayed females.
I love my girls very much and would not trade them for any other breed.
They are funny...they love your reaction when they make you laugh.
They are smart...never had a problem teaching either one of them anything.
They are loving, loyal and just a joy to have around.
The oldest is almost 7...she came from a kennel where they bred weight pullers. The first time she was put in harness she just laid down, like she was saying"who me pull?I don't think so" lol.Since she would not pull this also made her no good(to them) for breeding.I got her,had her spayed and have loved her ever since.
The Amstaff is now 17 months old...got her at 6months.She is a rescue that had been used as a bait dog for fighters,we think because she was covered in small wounds when I got her.She had either been dumped in the country where my nephew lives or was smart enough to escape.I think it was the latter because they usually just let bait dogs die,so I'm told.
Her age is pretty much an educated guess by my vet. So,I gave her my birth date, lol.
Hopefully they will be around for many years to come, they bring such joy and happiness to everyone who meets them.

I love my PIT BULL! She is awesome. We got her because a friend found her wondering in the streets and no one claimed her so that's how we got her! She is great with our 4 children. She waits for them to get off the school bus and sleeps with them at night. She is very protective of them. All my dogs that I have owned were Pit bulls and I wouldn't own any other dog. They are very love able and loyal animals. I don't care what anybody says about them!

I started off with a little Chi/Rat Terrier mix when my grandson came to live with me, his mom had gotten him the puppy. One of my grandsons buddies got a Beagle and he wanted one. So we ended up with a beagle. Both really great loving dogs.
Then my grandson wanted a Pit Bull. So we got an APBT puppy. When we got her home I looked at her slanted eyes and big head and thought to myself, what am I in for? Her looks scared me. I guess I had bought all the media hype. She is the most lovable dog I have ever had. She is four years old now and we have added a new , now four month old APBT puppy. It is so funny to see the four year old and the four month old running through the house play fighting, grabbing legs and ears and making a lot of noise. Of course the little Rat and Beagle get into the mix. Never a dull moment.
Glad I have a king size bed as they all sleep with me.

I love pit bulls! love them! I have 5, and they are all so great, each one is a rescue and they all have very different stories, 2 are from the LA pound, 1 i rescued from a breeder who had already let 2 of the puppies die by making them sleep outside in the cold before they were even a week old,
one we found in the desert, and one we found being attacked near our house at night by a big akita type dog.
One of them, Tilly, is albino and partially deaf. Its so great to watch them play, and curl up to sleep together.
I think that owning a pit bull-or pit mix is SUCH a rewarding experience!
I would recommend it to anyone.
My babies are:
Lilo
Tilly
Boo-Boo
Molly
and Lady
