Citizens from the People's Republic of China are not eligible for the Diversity Visa Lottery, or green card lottery. Any country that sends more than 50,000 immigrants to the US in any 5 year period is ineligible. Most immigrant visas are family based for reunification, so he would have to already have an American citizen or permanent resident relative who could file for him. He wouldn't be able to qualify himself and there isn't any way you could sponsor him for a green card as his friend. There are employment based visas like the H1b that can lead to green card status, but he would need a university degree to qualify plus he'd have to find an employer willing to hire him and file the paperwork.

Immigration looks at the possibility that someone legally in the country on a visitor or student visa will disappear as soon as he or she enters the country.
Regrettably, many Chinese people are lured to Canada and America with promises of great jobs, and they end up as virtual slave laborers and prostitutes.
I don't know if you can sponsor your friend unless he is a relative.

I believe only family can sponsor him to get a green card. (Income will be important... if they do not have the income to support another family member they will deny the application.) The only other option is to marry an American Citizen. (She would have to put in for a Fiance Visa Application.)
Student Visa is an option, also work Visa are available if he finds an employer in the US.

Okay, now. He should come as a student. Has he tried for a student visa? I have a massive cast and crew of buddies from Asian countries (including China) living here, right now, as students, LEGALLY.
When he gets here, though, tell him to guard against anyone who says "I love Chinese man"... especially if their nick is "John S".... ... Ewwwwwwww
Careful!

He should be able to come over on an education Visa. It's actually quite common. Just have him apply to colleges in the U.S.A. and he should have no problem obtaining a student Visa.

If so, it was legal to kill the white man immigrants from europe in the first place. So the USA soldiers who killed the Red Indians are criminal are criminal and the USA government was a illegal government like Israel in Palestine.
