What is an indigo Child?
As a summary, here are the ten attributes that best describe this new kind of child, the Indigo Child
They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it)
They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that.
Self-worth is not a big issue. They often tell the parents "who they are."
They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice).
They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.
They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought.
They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system).
They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.
They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did").
They are not shy in letting you know what they need.
and... just in case you heard otherwise from other "indigo" sources, the designated word "Indigo" has nothing to do with the color of an aura! It is the result of scientific observations by a woman who has the brain disorder called synesthesia.

It's a THEORY that is held in derision by most mental health professionals.
You can google "Indigo Children" and their website will come up. It is a bunch of new age-y mumbo jumbo, that basically says around 1990 a huge group of children were born who are going to lead us into a greater state of consciousness, and many of them have "old looking eyes."
The quality indicators they list are extremely similar to those of ADD/ADHD, and also high-functioning autism (which many so-called indigos have been diagnosed with).
The group arriving now that will further develop the indigo's mission is called "crystal children."
In other words, there really is no such thing. It's just a title that some parents are putting on their behavioral problem children to make them feel special and excuse their behavior.

Some people who believe they perceive auras have claimed the recent decade or so has seen a greater percentage of newborns with "indigo" in their auras. (This is questioned by others.)
As this makes the children "special," some parents are willing to believe their children are indeed wonders.
You might enjoy reading "Babies Remember Birth," by Dr. David Chamberlain, "Extraordinary Knowing," by Dr. Elizabeth Mayer," "Expecting Adam," by Dr. Martha Beck (this latter is the funny and feeling record of her carrying her son Adam to term during her earning her Ph.D. in feminist studies at Harvard), "Education Begins before Birth," O. M. Aivanhov, "Life before Life," Dr. Jim Tucker, "The Biology of Transcendence," Joseph Chilton Pearce, "The Field," Lynne McTaggart, "Reborn in the West: The Reincarnation Masters," VIcki MacKenzie, and "When Invisible Children Sing," Dr. Huang.
Http://www.divinecosmos.com is an example of a site with "indigo characteristics."

They love the LUNIZ . But seriously Indigo or Hibiru or Hebrew are a certain genetic race, that competing races ruling this planet found genetically intimidating , that is most likely why in many Sacred Text, those races' children , were
slaughtered by Atheist Kings of ancient times.

Really really gifted kids.
And they say they're indigo children because of the color of their aura is indigo. Not physically of course but that hippie energy vibe thing...

A child with ADD, ADHD or some other neurological condition (not necessarily such a bad thing in and of itself) with parents that aren't willing to accept that and instead believe in some psuedoscientific crap.
