Why are Christians so persecuted? And is there somewhere we can donate money to help these poor Christians live a better life?

I sincerely doubt you saw any such thing. First of all because atheist in general are humanists and therefore, for the most part, non-violent. If you want to start pointing fingers and accusing people that have chosen to not believe in a diety of being violent christian beaters, you should keep in mind that their are three fingers pointing right back at you. First of all, I would like to point out that you have more contempt for other human beings then any athiest I have ever met simply by posting this hate mongering peice of garbage you call a question. Secondly, do a little google search on these topics: The spanish inquisition (Torture devices and execution methods of.) The Crusades (and read up on the activites of the "Christians" when they entered the "Holy" city of Jerusalem.) The Oklahoma city bomber. David Koresh (The ATF was also to blame for that incident). The Ku Klux Klan.
Christians have not been massively persecuted since early Roman times (Basically before Constantine) and to this day, the only places christians are ever persecuted is in countries where another, equally intolerant religion is running the state.
I am not bashing on christians. I have no animosity personally for them or any other religion, however when I see such slanderous (technically libel but slander sounds better) hate mongering on a public forum, I have to speak out against it, which warrants fighting fire with fire. In your eyes I may not be a saint, but you're no prince yourself. I resorted to providing information, you opted to spreading lies.
Both the truth and lies can hurt but only the truth can do lasting damage to a web of lies.
You can try denying that these people didn't do what history says they did, or that somebody else did all those things, but your only fooling yourself.
And to think that you call yourself a christian.
Note: Okay, I may have been a little overzealous in lashing out at you, however if you are really sincere about this then all above statements still apply, if not then I will still leave them where they are because that was a truly delicious rant.
(I probably should have spent more time analyzing the question, I just wrote you off as a fundaMENTAList idiot, but upon re-reading it I do see that it is more likely tongue in cheek humor then a sincere bid against non existant, millitant athiests) If I jumped the gun, I am sorry, if not then I think you are an idiot.

Why does money always come up with Christians?
"Money is the root of all evil"
Now lets go back in time, back in a day where THE CHRISTIANS persecuted others.
I recall reading in a bible that if anyone were to preach anything other than what the bible stated, that one should murder the preacher.
I cannot recall the exacts but I do remember getting into a heated debate over this with the owner of the bible.
But Christians aren't the only ones persecuted.

I have never even heard of a "gang of atheists". Were they wearing their "I am an atheist" signs. Was the christian wearing a big "I love Jesus" T-shirt?
You are full of it. Why do Christians love to play the persecution card. Christians are NOT persecuted.

so how do you know it was for that reason the guy was being bashed? Do you know any of the circumstances at all? Maybe they were retaliating against a gay or other bashing the Christian and his friends had done
Yeah let's start a fund for poor bashed up upper middle class white male Christians - they're the minority who have been most persecuted throughout history :P

did you report it to the police? I doubt you saw anything of the kind or if you saw something where one person was getting picked on how do you know they were Christian and the others were atheists?
