It is legal across many parts of the US to get tattooed for anyone 16 and over-- certain states are for it, certain states have laws against it. I would look up your state and county laws and make sure it's legal. In Arizona, most shops will tattoo you at 16 with a parent present.

I like your tattoo idea, it is something a bit more thought out-- and since it means what it does to you, it'll make you happy forever. Always make sure it's what you want.

If it's a "good" tattoo shop, then they should refuse to tattoo a minor, with or without parental consent.

Wait till you're old enough, then get a tattoo because you want one, not because it will please your grandma.

Hello Sunshine,
Take some time to think about this. Perhaps two years.
Tatoos are hard to get rid of, and painful if you do.
I'd sure like to have a chat with your mother. What in
the world is she thinking of?

Grandparents are in your heart forever.
As long as you can visit, and show your love,
not the tatoo, she'll be grateful the rest of her days.

As a grandparent, and hundreds of other grandparents.
pretty much think alike.
You sound like a loving child.

Last time I looked, it is against Cal. state law to tatt ANYONE under 18, consent or not; has been for years, and the gov types were really cracking down on anyone who did.
