I read somebody saying that Nike Shox sucked because they have too much cushion... but how is that bad in a running shoe.. wouldn't you want a lot of "shock" to absorm the impact? I know I would.. I currently have shinsplints in my left leg, and achilles tendinitis in my right heel.... I think cushion is a might fine idea.. lol

You have to have a shoe that is best for you.
Some people need a soft shoe, the problem is if it has too much cushion you do not have as much control.

Meaning that your foot moves around, and if you have ankle problems you are more prone to injury.

Also if you have a foot plant problem you are not going to have the correct that was designed in the shoe if the cushion is too soft.

YOur problems indicate you need the softer shoe Aaron. Also maybe a heel lift would help.

1. The way to correct Shin splints is to strengthen the muscles at the front of the legs. Lie face down in bed with your toes hanging over the edge. Pull your toes upward against the resistance of the mattress. Try to work up to 3 or 4 sets of 5 – 10 reps each.

2. Tendonitis can be a real pain if not treated. Get to a sports medicine podiatrist today. IN the meantime, use ice twice a day for 15 minutes or so, and stretch often.

Good Luck

prepare with cushioned working shoes like asics. Then throughout a race use apartments or spikes in xc. they are going to make u run on ur feet not ur heels like training shoes yet have lots greater impact. provided that u are improving i does not even think of of race shoes.
