There are no false religions. What one person's believes does not affect another person's belief. If you are trying to convert the world to your type of religion. Then your religion is the false one. Religion is a personal choice and you should stay away from assuming that it is your way or the highway.

every one that does not serve God as he expects it. The Bible shows what you need to know to identify the right religion. The August 1, 2009 Watchtower Magazine has the theme "How Can You Choose A Good Religion?". It focuses on three mayor things True Religion promotes in it's believers according to the Bible. An excelent tool to auto evaluate anyone's believes. Ask local JW for a copy next time you see them. If you would like to know more about this and other themes, next time Jehovah's Witness come to your door, ask them for a free Bible study at your convenience. You will never regret all the knowledge you will acquire and remember that what you do with that knowledge is your choice. Knowledge + Application = Wisdom

I'm a non-denominational Christian who was raised as a United Methodist. Although I can't give you an exact number, I think I can give you an idea of what a false religion (or cult) actually is. In my area (southern IN/Lou. KY), there's a "church" that worships a deceased preacher. They listen to tapes of his sermons every Sunday, some of them refer to him as a re-incarnation of Jesus Christ, & they gather at his grave-site every Easter waiting for him to rise again. They even have a car waiting for him to drive away in! People, I'm not making this up. If he was a true spiritual leader, he'd be rolling over in his grave at the way his "followers" are acting. This is the kind of behavior that gives other religions a bad name. So temper your judgement by reading the scriptures seriously & deeply.

Who are you to judge what is false and what is true? The definition of religion is basically a belief system involving worship of some kind. Everyone believes in something but not everyone worships whatever it is they believe and performs rituals. So based on that, no religion can be false.
But to answer your question, I would say Christianity and Scientology. Christianity as we know it is nothing at all like what Jesus practiced and preached. Scientology is a completely made up religion that a megalomaniac sci-fi author thought would be cute to turn into a real religion.

Ask the average religious person that question and you'll get this answer:
"All of them except for mine."
How do you really define "false"? Obviously, somebody thinks that these religions aren't false or else they wouldn't have a following. I don't think you want to see my list, because if I had enough time to compile it, your religion would most likely make it on the list. Even if you're atheist or agnostic.

I have never Named a False Religion. But God can probably name all of them. And He loves all those misguided souls.
Anything that is not of Love is not of God.

Every religion if false except the one you follow, at least that is what everyone believes. My advice is that if you believe in a God, just follow your heart and always do what you believe is the right thing to do, and if you don't believe in a God, just follow your heart and always do what you believe is the right thing to do. Either way you will find peace within yourself.
