Seizure activity is a known complication associated with multiple sclerosis; however, it may also result from side effects of the treatments for the disease
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic neurologic disease that can affect people of any age. Patients with the disease are at greater risk for development of seizures than age-matched controls.Seizures can be physically as well as psychosocially disabling and can further impair quality of life.In a review of medical records of patients with multiple sclerosis seen at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, 51 (0.89%) of 5715 patients experienced seizures. The most common (68.6%) ictal behavior was generalized tonic-clonic seizure activity. A placebo-controlled study found that four (3%) of 158 patients receiving interferon -1a experienced seizures, whereas none were reported in the placebo group.Three of the four patients had no history of seizures..
MS can cause virtually any neurologic deficit, based on the location of new and old plaques. Seizures, can occur at any time during the course of illness. In some cases, seizures may be the only clinical manifestation. Partial-onset seizures clearly predominate and occur more frequently than in the global epilepsy population.

I have heard of many people with MS who also have seizures. Have you asked your neurologist? That is probably the best place to start in your quest for answers. I run a large MS support group on-line here at Yahoo and I would welcome you to join. I am adding the link below. I know there are members with seizures so I'm sure you will be able to get some first hand knowledge from others with MS.
The National MS Society also has some information about seizures in MS. That is also linked below.
Good Luck and I hope to see you on MSersLife!
