I think I know what you are trying to say. But yes, some say they are Christians, but then they are rude in their answers and say mean things because they don't like what someone else says, or answers. But I have seen many on here that give respectful answers even when the asker is very rude. We must strive to be like Christ, and that is not always easy, because none is perfect. But you can still see those that are trying because they show it more often. And when we do make a mistake or are rude to some one, we must apologize with a humble heart. And that will help to be a light to the world.

I would like to correct that statement a little... not ALL..just many. Mother Teresa was a great example of how a single human can influence millions upon billions onto the way of Christ's Love and Comfort.
I agree that to be Christian, is to follow in the ways of Christ... I find many Christians have lost the true meaning of being Christian, instead they tend to emulate the attitude, actions and habits of an Apostle that has never even met Christ in the flesh ( except as a Spirit... isnt that punishable by death for Witchcraft or Necromancy back in those days?)... and that Apostle is Paul - Eloquent, Smart but Wrathful, Self-Righteous and Racist/Sectarian. He was so mean to "heathens"... Christ wasn't...
When Christ took Mary Magdalene into his fold, he was harshly criticised, but Jesus doesn't look at the "outside" he saw the beauty of everyone from the inside...
Paul wasn't like that ... he castigated, encouraged people to shun, and looked down on many who aren't of his "caliber"

Christ is a hard Act to follow, but with an honest heart ,faith and grace, The Good Lord helps us to be like him. Your correct a True Christian by Definition is someone who accepts Christs and studies His Word and makes the effort to be comformed to His image as far as conduct.
Others, who claim to be Christs and do not do this are mentioned in the Bible as False Christians and their Leaders as False Christs. Broad is the way that leads to Destruction, but Narrow is the way that comes in at the
Strait [Star] Gate. -Amen

Like you said, some people call themselves Christians but, they are not and those who are must grow up in Christ and be serious about their relationship with the Lord. Being Christ like is not going to fall on us. That is why the bible says we are to work out our own salvation. Not work for it but work out what God has put in us. Most people I know that profess to be Christians are not diligent and they take being saved for granted. They do not study to show themselves approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed and that is why so many of us disgrace and dishonor the name of the Lord. We are like the Galatians who did not understand that what was started by the Spirit must continue by the Spirit and not the flesh. Our minds must be set on the mind of the Spirit or we will and do act UN- Christ like and confuse people. Being a Christian is a full time job and a fight to the finish in the power of the Holy Spirit. God has given us everything we need to live a godly life but our sinful nature must be brought under submission to the will of God. We live and act like the world because we act according to the flesh. We do not have to but we choose to.
I am constantly reminded of and I have to read this often because for me it is so powerful. 1 Peter 4:1-3; Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do, living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.
Being a Christian means being enlisted into God's military service as a soldier and that is war. It is a real spiritual war and we have to be dressed for battle because our enemy fights dirty and he is out to destroy our witness for Christ.
Far too many of us want the Lord as a part time lover and we want to live in the darkness the other part of the time. I believe many people are deceived and think they are saved who are not.
This is just my opinion which does not mean a whole lot.

Do you know what separates Christians from Sinners? Only the fact that we Christians know we are sinful, that we have accepted God's forgiveness and salvation, and that we try to do better. St. Paul spoke of his own struggles with sin and the power of God's grace. I am often appalled at how fellow Christians behave, but I am sure they would be equally appalled at some of the things I do. The important thing is that we strive to live as closely to the example Christ set for us as we can. We won't always succeed, but we have to try.

It is hard. We have the freedom to behave as we wish.
Getting "saved" fulfills some human needs, but it does not change your root intentions. It is supposed to, but anyone can say they are "saved".
A person gets "saved" in the church. The other members then watch closely for signs of "sin".
I got "saved". Previous to that, my guitar case was in smoky bars, and I had not opened it up for months.
I opened it up at church, and it still smelled like smoke. I've never seen body language change so fast in my life! I was not the best communicator, so I was placed in the "not saved" group. Of course, that kind of ostracization pushed me elsewhere....

Because we're human. This is not a cop-out or a reason to sin, but if it were so easy to be "Christlike" as you put it, we wouldn't have needed Christ to make the sacrifice He made for us on the cross. God says, to paraphrase, "Not one of you are good, not one." Again, this is not an excuse, but a fact. Only when Christ comes again will we who believe truly be, Christlike in every sense of the word.

you seee my dear friend everybody can be a sinner and still call themselves christians.
the thing is people don't understand that they have to be in the kingdom.meaning they must not only understand and meditate upon the word of god,but they actualy practice it.
christians think that just because they are born again they are going to heaven, and they don't understand that they have to die daily and renew their minds .
which is why Jesus said may of you you'll say lord we have prophesied and cast out deamons by your name and he will say i never knew you.
so my brothers and sisters you have to be in the kingdom of god in order to be and the kingdom of heaven.
if you say you are a "christ-like" christian how come you still question the word of god
and how come you are still breaking the commandments?
who are you to change god's laws remember he is the king and you are not.
your sister in christ

judge not so as not be judge. most bible toting not all but most or in general these people would measure or gage people on how christian should act based on their idea as to how a christian should act. for even CHRIST in his short stay here on earth did not expect his follower to be such but instead HE advises them to strive to be perfect like our FATHER in heaven is perfect. so id say lets start to be alight in our homes/family though we may flicker at times because of our imperfection at least we strive to be that one lighted candle and hopefully multiplies to enlighten this dark world of ours brought about by greed, materialism, low morality etc.....
