God created Apples and he seemed to have issues with us eating them.

He also created Snake Venom, though he never told us not to imbibe, I am not sure that he wants us chugging that too.

So there were limits to what we are supposed to do with his creations

Possibly. Outlawing ie making consumption illegal? In order to protect mankind certain things are proscribed. Eating poison seems to be one of them. Or scorpions. God made them too so just because it exists doesn't give a thing inherent goodness or badness. Perhaps God judges the intention of the user's heart.

LUKE 11
11If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

12Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

The word Pharmacy (where you buy drugs RX) comes from the Greek

The CHI and RHO letters are Greek and not Roman. They were already in use as a symbol for medicine and healing- - and are still in use today in pharmacy,ie. the "RX". Pharmacia" in Greek means sorcery.

Sorcery was banned -
Revelation 21 offers a warning to sorcerers
7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Plants were given for medicinal purposes -
Ezekiel 47
12And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

But the question is does pot lead people to God? Is the law against pot illegal according to the separation of Church and State? Is the banning of pot because the government wants to uphold Biblical proscription of sorcery?

Or is it because the paper manufacturers in the US demanded the outlawing of hemp?

You raise many questions. The short answer is we no longer live under the Law but under Grace. There are many other issues which are more pressing.

I should hope not! If there really is a heaven and I manage to get in, I'd always hoped I could do bong rips with Jesus and some of the Old Testament prophets...those dudes were pretty out there!

That having been said...*shrug* render unto Caesar what is Caesar's.

ADDENDUM: nemesis780, I challenge you to provide evidence to back up the claims you're making, because right now I'm openly accusing you of making **** up.

Nemesis, that is quite possibly the worst answer to any question I have ever seen out here.

While marijuana can have some negative side effects there is no known fatal dose of marijuana, it is impossible to overdose on the stuff. You could eat handfuls of it and would pass out before it would kill you and to say it renders anyone into a sate that they can no longer talk is beyond ludicrous.

It wouldn't be so bad for it to be outlawed if the legal system did it the right way. They either put potsmokers in jail which gives them free food and shelter. They make them pay a fine which makes them smoke because they have no money. Both give them a record which makes it hard for them to have a job, so they smoke because they have no money. Make them pickup trash and forget the record. They will get jobs and not want to work at picking up trash for no money. I have to pick up the trash along the side of road at my property because the city says they can't afford clean up crews. Let the bad boys do it.

I believe that God put every thing on earth for the good of man kind. It is man kind who made something wrong or evil of it. look at marijuana. A lot of sick people need it. I say He would not.

Jesus would leave the laws to the lawmakers and hope that individuals would make the right choices as they live their lives.

Marijuana is the cure for glaucoma and it is legal if prescribed.
But What you are referring to is not using the plant, but abusing it, Marijuana is dangerous when it is abused. Alot teenagers die from it every year because they smoke to much in one time. While others who survive and smoke it for a long time eventually their brains become mush and they forget how to talk. So yes it should be illegal if the plant is abused and not used for the meducal purpose, and so far the medical purpose is the only purpose and I think thats Why God created it, not for what your reffering to.
