this dream is YOUR thoughts about this guy--his getting in your way is just the way you see your happiness because of his actions--his going out with another girl gets in the way of your happiness.

Some dreams are just wish fulfillment. Some help you organize things you may be noticing subconsciously - like body language, *how* people say things (not just *what* they say). Some try to clue you in on stuff that's bothering you, that you aren't letting yourself think about. I don't know you at all, so I can't guess what's going on in your dream. But I know a great way of interpreting dreams:
1) get a piece of paper and split it into two columns.
2) in one column write down every tiny little element of your dream (example: a. Ralph, b. torn blue jeans, c. school hallway, d. standing in the way, etc.). Leave some space between each element, 'cause the other column might take more room.
3) in the other column write down associations you have for each element, completely apart from the dream. (example: torn blue jeans = casual, messy, cool, like my favorite uncle used to wear, etc.) Forget about the dream for this step.
4) Go back through the second column, but this time look for patterns and themes in your associations.
Maybe your dream has nothing to do with the guy himself and has more to do with romance in general. Or maybe triangular relationships are getting in your way in more than one area of your life. I don't know you, so I couldn't say - but try the exercise and see if you learn anything about yourself.

It sounds to me like you have him bounceing around your mind constantly.
Even your subconcious wants a little break.
Try to replace him with some other obsession for a short time so your subconcious can expand and get some thing sout of it's system. And I do mean Obsession, because a distraction just wouldn't be enough,.. you'd still have him on your mind.
I think your mind is begging for him to stop blocking other things it wants to do. I don't know if that makes sense to you, but when you think about someone or something some times that happens.
So though he isn't physically blocking you from functioning, he mentally is.
It's hard to stop it though because it's always back there, so your brain needs some paths open so other things can flow about.

I am a firm believer that dream are really just from our subconscious thought, My wife worries that they mean something is going to happen or something like that. I just take them for what they are thoughts while you sleep. I would hope dreams meant nothing or else I would be in serious trouble for all the wierd and stupid stuff that happens in there.

yeah, B-man is correct... dreams usually reflect our subconscious thoughts or wants or what we really want to happen...
if we think about something all the time or almost everytime, we also dream about it...
and since your dream is about the guy you like and which you would prefer to happen, it doesnt have a meaning after all... it means that this dream is what you always think of and that even at your subconscious state, you or your mind remembers it that you mistake it for a dream that should have a meaning...

i suppose that you really like the guy. but a dream is a dream. Dreams prove that the brain is still working while a person is sleeping
