family friend bought the wrong kind. She can't find the receipt. I just need to exchange for another brand. I took the cans back the original store she bought them from and they wouldn't let me w/out a receipt. The dumb lady said she couldn't take them back b/c I may have bought them w/ WIC.

Does anyone know a store that wouldn't give me such a hard time? Thank you

Donating is not an option. I have twins to feed. Thanks. I'm looking for another mom that I may be able to exchange with.

Wal*Mart usualy takes back anything w/out a recipt if you're just exchanging it.

I have exchanged sealed powder baby formula at wal-mart before without the receipt. That's been a couple of years ago though and they could have possibly changed their policies.

But wal-mart is still a good bet. If you don't use WIC then I would suggest contacting WIC and asking them if they could write out a statement verifying that you do not use WIC and take it to wal-mart with you just in case. If you do use WIC then they should also be able to write out a statement verifying the kind of formula you are supposed to be using thus proving you wouldnt have bought that kind with WIC. If the people at the service desk give you a hard time about it then tell them you want to talk to the manager and ask them what you need to do to satisfy their policies to be able to exchange it.

You could also probably talk to the WIC department about possibly trading it. I had a friend that was on WIC and someone bought her the wrong kind of formula WIC had the kind she needed and so they traded her. They don't always have what you need but that is something to check into and they might also be able to give you other ideas to check into.

Good luck hun :)

How many cans is it? Try contacting a local Mums group and tell them what the problem is as they may be able to help.
It is udnerstandable the shop refusing to exhange without proof you are their customer - think about it, would you buy product off shelf you knew had already been sold and returned? With baby formula theres a very small risk but the consequences would be enormous.
Remember, even if they do exchange they will not resell the product, they would only destroy it at their cost.

Where I am, there is a limit on the amount of powder formula one person can purchase. There is also a no refund / exchange / return policy also... Has to do with manufacturing drugs...

The "dumb" lady makes sense to me...

No one accepts returns without a reciept, and even if they did, they wouldn't accept childrens food because of all the sickos out there.

I suggest you donate it to a food bank.
