I do really believe in the tarot. Only my clients can tell you if the answers I give them are "truth." The thing about tarot cards is that they're just paper. Like someone else said, why not use flower petals or the hairs of a dog? She has a point. Why NOT use flower petals or the hairs off a dog?
It's not the cards, or the runes, or the hairs of the dog that will impart truth. It's your own intuitive abilities that may or may not allow truth to come through. The tools (tarot, runes, chicken guts... whatever) are just a way to bring these intuitive messages out where you can see them.
None of the tarot cards are inherently negative, only your interpretation of them. And that's the other secret to tarot reading and truth. How we interpret the messages we get from the cards is key. Ever play that game where someone whispers a message into someone else's ear and that person passes it on to the next person and so on and so forth.. by the time the 20th person gets the message it's usually very different from how it started out. The end result was not a lie, just a garbled misinterpretation.
Spiritual messages (through tarot, prayer, dreams, etc.) have to be filtered through our own belief system and personal experiences before we speak what we've heard. Truth? Wow, that's a really hard thing to nail down. All we can do as tarot readers is try and have the best intentions possible and leave our judgments out of the equation so we can hear and repeat the truth as clearly as we are able.

Hello Intervention
I have studies tarot for 20 years & now teach them. They are an excellent tool for guidance & meditation. The tarot can help spiritual, psychic & personal development.
There are no negative cards, just cards that show different aspects of humanity & of life. Negativity is a reaction to events that bring us pain or ones that we would rather not experience.
Tarot is a fascinating field of spiritual, psychological & psychic study.
In Peace
Pam

Cards are a lot more willing to give a straight answer if they "like" you, that is, are attuned to you via the way they came to you. If you bought them yourself, that's good, or if someone gave them to you out of love, that's even better. If you got them from a grage sale or someone didn't want them anymore, you aren't going to get much sense from them.
My godmother left me her cards when she died. I learned how to read them, and soemtimes the answers they offer up are like she's right there next to me, saying exactly what her opinion would be.

I have experienced a strange tarot reading, and researched it as well. My reading was so dead on, I decided to learn how to do it myself. "They" will never tell you what each card means. They tell you that it signifies something, and you need to look into yourself to define that meaning for each individual. I don't have the gift, but the person who read my cards sure does!

I don't want to sound mean, but I'm wondering if you seriously believe that drawings on a piece of paper can tell you anything meaningful about yourself or your life?
Why not use flower petals? Hairs off a dog?
Headlines from a newspaper would tell you more applicable information about your life.
