Yup it's called indoctrination - getting ready for the
new world order and the end of days.
Because "we" can't seem to get rid of God in the
hearts of mankind, "we're" trying to at least "sweep Him
under the carpet". Morality and unalienable rights come
from God.

"If you think G-d exists, you are an ignorant fool playing games."
Which would be true.
"If you think Islamic people should not be allowed to migrate to your country to expand the terrorist network, you are a raist bigot."
Having something against Islam isn't racism (one of the biggest areas of confusion of the so called left) but it is racist to want to target ethnicities.
Also most of the Muslims that come to the US and other countries are doing so not to expand a terrorist network but to get a better life (and a lot of them want to escape an oppressive theocracy).
"If you think all people who CAN work should work, and should be refused welfare, you are a radical."
The problem with that viewpoint is that it contradicts modern economic theory about the natural rate of unemployment. Simply put, it is just not going to happen that everyone who can work and who wants to work will be able to find a job.

Technology makes it easier and easier to have a voice heard by more and more people. It also makes it easier and easier for people to post oppositions to what people say. This goes for both political left and right, and everything else.
If you're complaining about THIS place, I hate to break it to you but 1) religion has always been a touchy subject, and 2) internet forums in general have been places where it doesn't take much for things to get hot.

I have learnt to air my opinions in a mature way, so I don't cause WWIII.
Though in saying that it can be extremely hard not to get fired up because of what some jerk or some jerks said.
Remember that **** Happens because C'est La Vie.
The other advice I have is to try hard to ignore it or try not to get involved in a certain conversation in the first place.

I think so. If you don't subscribe to the Christian faith, they call you evil and tell you that you're going to hell. They question your morals, and accuse you of attacking them. If you're a single working mother, they act like your kids need their good hearted pity. The right wingers tell us that we should have a baby every time we have sex, and act like your concerns for the population, the environment, and the involuntary unemployment rate are about as real as the Bunyip. They call you "loud mouthed liberal" or "feminazi." If you're gay they threaten you, and if you have a relationship with someone of Middle Eastern heritage, they call him a terrorist, and you're a traitor.
Who'd have thought that we could agree.

What, you're asking me to THINK?
Excuse me, but, like, I've got more important things to do... I've got to shop and stuff.
If God doesn't exist, why is he on the money that I used to buy my new shoes? If Islamic people should be here, why can't they wear our clothes? If you can't afford the newest fashions, why should you be allowed to be an eyesore?
Opinions are for losers. Mandates are the new fall fashion.

No it's not taboo to have an opinion, it's just taboo to have an opinion that the media would view unfavorable. That's why famous people who make comments that someone might find derogatory are forced to "apologize". I think they should be entitled to their opinions too.

This was the topic of one of Ravi Zacharias's talks - how certainty is suspect in the culture today. If you have no answers you are trustworthy, but if you claim to know something with certainty, you are disregarded these days.

No, it's not, yet today the loudest language ever is fear. Keep in mind when people are afraid the first language they speak is fear; it comes before understanding.

It is unfortunate that people have resorted to calling each other names instead of grappling with the issues.
I respect your right to have your opinions, to debate and defend them, and to reject any name-calling.
