ye old caveman: that has to be the most stupid excuse I have ever heard in defence of Act chapter 5.
look guys I believe in pro-choice but I also believe everything should be done to prevent pregnacy, including the morning after pill, but sometimes people have used protection and not know they were pregnant, this happened to a friend of mine.
you do not have a soul; you have a conscience!!

martin s: so with your logic Hitler could have repented with all his heart to a priest in the bunker and he will now be in heaven. that all these paedophiles and murderers on death row that have become Born Again Christians, they repent and they will go to heaven, even though they have commited the worst kind of crimes against society, in Gods eyes they are forgiven, well if you want to share a cloud with a mass muderous paedophile thats up to you. personally I don't believe your right.

I respect the fact that the religious amongst us feel that abortion is wrong. I do, however, believe that others have a right to their opinion. I strongly believe that people should take great care not to become pregnant if they cannot offer a child a loving upbringing. If there is a genuine mistake and the mother cannot possibly face bringing up a child, then why would anyone want that child to be brought into this tough world to face things without the love and support it needs.

numbers 5:12-31 this passage doesnt guide priests how to do an abortion, this is about unfaithful wives and to find out if theyve cheated on there husbands, if she has and drinks the drink, her stomach will swell she will become sick and no longer be able to have babies, theres a difference between making somone sterile and abortion. ecclesiastes 6.3 these are not gods words that are spoken, and they relate to a baby that is born dead is useless. it returns to darkness without a name. that baby never saw the sun and never knew anything, but it finds more rest than that man. all other passages quoted by gelffing, god ordered these people killed as they had sinned against him and his people, the women in question that were killed had tricked some of gods people(isralites) into sexual relations so they had also sinned. now look at DEUTERONOMY 30:15-20 this says to choose life is to love the lord your god. also psalm 139:13-16 you made my whole being, you formed me in my mothers body. i praise you because you made me in an amazing way. what you have done is wonderful. i know this very well. you saw my bones formed as i took shape in my mothers body. when i was put together there, you saw my body as it was formed. all the days planned for me were written in a book before i was 1 day old. these passages confirm to me that life is precious and abortion is wrong, and gods feelings are very clear that abortion is murder and is a sin.

Im pro choice and Christian (kinda. I don't go to church or anything)
God didn't kill everyone in the Bible.
He killed the folks who deserved it, and sometimes those who didn't. (aborted babies?)
God works in mysterious ways, but you have to think of all those hardships in the Bible as tests of faith. Human beings are capable of much more atrocities than God performed. But He also has a hand in everything.
I think of it like this. If the kid is going to end up in a dumpster because some teenage girl cant handle the responsibility, then its better off being aborted. But I'm sure that if the kid could be placed in a foster home and have a nice family that he could succeed in life.
Things always happen for a reason is basically my answer to this question
"If God didn't exist then anything would be possible."

I shall laud you because in a fear-inspiring way I am wonderfully made.
Your works are wonderful,
As my soul is very well aware.
My bones were not hidden from you
When I was made in secret,
When I was woven in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw even the EMBRYO of me,
And in your book all its parts were down in writing, Psalms 139
When once a child had been conceived, the developing embryo or fetus was considered a soul. Action that resulted in killing a developing child in the womb was handled according to the rule “soul for soul.” (Ex 21:22, 23) It was a horrendous act for an enemy to rip up or split open a pregnant woman.—Ho 13:16; Am 1:13; 2Ki 8:12; 15:16. Deliberately to induce abortion or miscarriage by artificial means, by the use of drugs, or by medical operation, the sole purpose of which is to avoid the birth of an unwanted child, is an act of high crime in the sight of God. Life as a precious gift from God is sacred. Hence God’s law to Moses protected the life of an unborn baby against more than criminal abortion, for if in a fracas between men a pregnant woman suffered an accident fatal to her or the child, “then you must give soul for soul.” (Ex 21:22-25) Of course, before applying that penalty, the circumstances and degree of deliberateness were taken into consideration by the judges. (Compare Nu 35:22-24, 31.) But emphasizing the seriousness of any deliberate attempt to cause injury, Dr. J. Glenn comments: “The viable embryo in the uterus IS a human individual, and therefore destroying it, is a violation of the sixth commandment.”—The Bible and Modern Medicine, 1963, p. 176.

There is so much anti abortion cry out on here ,but, i just wonder how many of these people so against it,would be prepared to keep on with a pregnancy that would lead to a deaf ,blind and seriously disabled child .that,if it survived birth would die soon after. why would any normal woman want to put herself through that? also i have noticed an awful lot of the anti brigade are men , would they expect their daughter to carry a child that was the result of rape? is democracy NOT the right to choose?, there are so many unwanted children in the world and many ill treated .is it not better to abort then bring a life into this?

If you read the Bible, you will see that the people who were killed ("everyone" as you put it) were the wicked people. Maybe the Bible is just over your head. If everyone in those days was killed, no one would be here.
I have two children and you can't tell me for a minute that they weren't "alive" before they were born. I felt them move, I saw them breathe (on ultrasounds), their hearts were beating, they could suck their thumbs, they respond to light and sound, they sleep. These aren't just reflexes of the nervous system.
By the way, that scripture in Gensis that talks about God breathing life into someone's nostrils was talking about Adam and Eve, NOT a baby.
Many of those other scriptures that were referenced don't talk about pregnant women at all, and the others not in the way it was mentioned. Read the scriptures surrounding those references before you preach.

I'm currently reading "The God Delusion". Even though I do not believe what he believes, I don't wish hime harm. Ideally, it would be better for him to change his view, but it's his choice to believe what he wants.
As far as your question is concerned, God knows what is on people's minds and in their hearts. I they prefer non-scriptural ways of life, and act on those preferences, they run the risk of God's displeasure. However, God forgives in a large way and there are a number of accounts in the Bible of people who worshipped foreign immoral gods or who committed crimes but repented in their hearts and were forgiven. Ususally, this meant that they were given priveleges of service, knowledge, etc.
There was a law in the Bible where people could be punished with death if they accidentally killed an unborn baby, even if it was not yet out of the embryonic stage.
According to the Bible, people should avoid pregnancies if they are unmarried, but the best way to avoid it is to avoid sex all together. While this law cannot be forced on everyone, those who accept the Bible's directions are encouraged to remain faithful and given as much support as they need to abstain.

Great question. But it won't help to wake up the brainwashed Xtians, I think. It is sad though. But, if they choose to suffer, have unwanted kids inside their "blessed" bodies, let them suffer! Unfortunatelly, it is women who will suffer more, and it is men who came up with this idea! Silly, innit? But they don't see it as suffering anyway (how could they admit that?), so let them be.
Everyone has got CHOICES!

Look Atheist, it seem like u all just love to make fun of Christians. Have u ever asked urself . Who made me?
Who made everything we see? God has a plan for everything. The people who died in the Bible were bad people, people who were not right with God. People who knew right from wrong, who were not in innocence anymore.
People who made the wrong choices. Unborn babies should not be aborted because they are innocent and cant choose for themselves yet. They cant choose right or wrong yet. God did not kill everyone u ignorant person. Look if God did not let people die then this world would be packed with bad people. Never mind. No matter how much I type i'll never convince u.

You assume God killed them.
Sometimes people die of shock.
Hearing Peter tell them they cheated God might have been enough to cause them to have a heart attack or stroke.
God didn't kill 'EVERYONE", or none of us would be here hashing over this ridiculous comment.
Numbers 5:12-31 makes no mention of a baby. Only that a women who cheated on her husband would be very sick.
Only one man betrayed Jesus. What has that to do with the rest of us?
Me think many who come to Yahoo are GODHATERS.
Can't stand to think they owe existence to a creator so they search His word for ways to find fault. Usually they have to twist words. God in ancient times had to be very harsh because people were very evil and life was very difficult. You find none of the horrible killing in the new testament.
Besides, God created life, him have right to reclaim it. Humans not create life, God does not want us to decide who lives.
True Christians are opposed to death penalty. Not want anyone to die before they live out whole life. Not like abortion. Abortion stops a heartbeat!
UGH!!!!
