I'm thinking about getting bangs. I have long side bangs right now, but am thinking about getting more traditional bangs shortly. I haven't had them in years, though, so I don't really remember how hard they are to care for or deal with. Are they obnoxious for people with curlyish, frizzyish hair?

I need to get them because I had the front of my hair burned off in an oven fire about a year ago, and I need to cover up the frizzy "banglets" that have since grown in! They stick straight up!

I have bangs and I love them. My hair is thick and fluffy. Given the right hair stylist you would love them too. Something simular happened to me. The bad part was, I lost all of my bangs and got 2nd degree burns all over my forehead. They couldn't fix the skin for a while. So you could imagine how i looked walking around with a burnt up forehead and nothing to cover it up.
I think that you should try it out and get a good stylist to assist you. Given the right productions, infuesium 23, Pantene Pro V, Doves' production etc. You will be just fine.

Traditional bangs (the straight cut across the forehead), is a very tough look to carry off, and like everything else in life there are pros and cons for this too.
Pros: you dont have to really reduce your current length to change your look. and if you have a roundish or square (jawline) face, it might look cute. secondly, you just have to style the bangs to get a put together look.
Cons: This style of bangs gets old really fast, looks cute for a day or two, but then the styling is tough to maintain. You need to get them trimmed constantly. i also feel that they are such an obvious attempt to look younger, subtlety is always better.
Side swept bangs are ALWAYS better!! In the end, go with your gut instinct, and if you do go with bangs and they arent what you expected.. it isnt the end of the world!!! they'll grow out!!!
ENJOY!!!

I never had bangs because I had oily skin and bangs always made me look like a poodle. I personally don't think they are attractive but if they look good on you and you like them, why not? I like hairstyles that are easy to deal with and not time consuming. Bangs would be one more thing to deal with.

so easy. usually mine fall right into place, on a bad day i might have to do a quick run through with a straightner, but it takes no time at all. bangs are so in right now too and i think they flatter everyone. i love love love bangs. go for it.

I have traditional bangs and it drives me crazy, I think its not that nice nowadays, just stuck with them because it takes a while to grow them long, so have to cut it now and then so it won't hurt my eyes. I suggest don't get one.

Nope, they're not a problem. I have curly, and I mean Curly hair, and I used to have bangs not to long ago. All I did was straighten them every mornding and ta-da! You're all good to go. :)

i love my "bangs" ( im english and we call it a fringe) some times when my hair is in a bad mood i need to straighten them but apart from that they are great make sure you have clips/hairbands handy if its hot weather orr they are too long! good luck!

i personally thought they were extremely annoying when i got them. i have curly frizzy hair too but i always flat ironed so it wouldn't look too dumb (but that's my own opinion). if you leave 'em curly, you will more than likely become very annoyed with 'em within 2 weeks or so. i just let mine grow out not too long ago because it looked to childish, now i have layers.
