I believe you are referring to kilovolt-ampere to kilowatts. Once you have already kiliovolt-ampere(kVA) from 3-phase, 2-phase or single phase, you have just to multiply it by power factor of the load to get kilowatt (kW).

For your 1.42, I believe you are referring to square root of 2, which is actually 1.414. A factor relating your rms value to maximum value.

Your question is not very clear!

As to my knowledge, I think you wanted to convert
1 kilowatt = ? volt ampere
1 kilowatt = 1,000 watts = 1,000 volt ampere

Power = Voltage x Current
P = V I

If you wanted to compute for the current I then,

I = P/V

In AC circuits, P = VI cos Φ where: Φ is the phase angle.
But in your question there is no phase angle it means in phase purely resistive circuit.

If you mean 1.42 kilowatts = 1,420 watts = 1,420 volt amperes
