The bonuses are dependent on the MOS or Job you select rather than where you are assigned. They are real, I received I couple myself. Good Luck
p.s. you will be taxed about 28 percent on that money upfront....so calculate that in

I dont suggest letting the money make your decision. The army needs people but they need motivated people that actually want to do the job. Yes you can get large enlistment bonuses but the lower enlisted pay scale sucks though the benefits are good. If it is something you are truly interested in then get the most you can out of it but dont do it for the money alone.

Please talk to a recruiter for correct information. The current enlistment bonuses vary between the services and available jobs (MOSs) A number of the services are offering bonuses of UP TO $20,000 for enlistments. The Army (active duty) is offering enlistment bonuses of up to $40,000 (in addition to loan repayment programs etc.) Remember, get everything in writing, come skeptical and good luck.

Bonuses are paid out over your period of enlistment. A set amount per year. Get your bonus in writing. Beware they tax your bonus payments very heavly.Someone I know got 35k for reenlisting
Cheers

you can but that is a total sum, you get different amounts for each qualification
like
6k for 4 years or you can get some for what time of the year you join , what mos you pick , your education before going in,
and it just keeps adding up, i actually totaled up to 22k but 20k is the max, and what i got.
and for the guy above who knew someone who had 35k, it had to be a re enlistment bonus if it was a cash bonus,or translators and a few other very select things can get more but , usually its 20k

look at it this way. If you dont have a family that you are supporting, which is a whole different bowl of chili, than you will be living for free on these bases. the fact that you are getting paid any money and the military pays for just about everything else is glorious. itll add up. the bonus will just help you on your way.
