He was out all night drinking, came home and demanded we go to bed. THen I wanted to get up and he kept screaming at me and calling me mean names. Now he just threw up all over the floor and asked me to help him clean it up? Should I?

no
Loretta Lynn has a song called "Don't come home a-drinkin' with lovin' on your mind" or something like that.
Lose the loser
dump the chump
flunk the drunk
uh oh, my wife just came in and read this and said "why are you saying that, that's what you do."

Do you think that asking this in the Religion and Spirituality section is going to help the situation?

This is not a good situation for you to be in, living together without marriage is not a good thing and doing so with a verbally abusive alcoholic is even worse.

No, you should not help him clean it up, he is an adult who chooses to act like a child and demeans you in the process. He's calling you names, hitting is not far behind. Save yourself.

You need to kick him to the curb, if the home is yours, or move out and live by yourself until you find an adult man to marry.

I hope that you are able to make a good decision for yourself.

wow...where to begin?

...Living with a man who is not your husband...that comes to mind...

My advice to you regarding your question is this-
We do things for others not for their appreciation, but because it can make us feel better (this is the Holy Spirit working inside us, or call it the spirit of service if you are secular).
So, if you choose to clean up the vomit, then do so, and feel good about helping someone you care about. But if you have any inclination toward holding it over his head or throwing it back in his face, then don't do it. Just leave there until he cleans it up.

Only if it will stain the floor if it doesn't get cleaned up promptly. Your boyfriend seriously needs to grow up...in regards to a lot of things, it sounds like.

That does not sound like a nice boy friend. I would not live with a man if I was not married.

If you love him, you help him.
