base pay is the same across the board for all Branches. Bonuses vary greatly from Branch to Branch and Job to Job and change daily if not more often. Currently, overall, the Army is offering the largest bonuses for initial enlistees. CG and AF offer almost NO bonuses whatsoever. Navy and Marines only in specific jobs. needs of the military take precedence, there are no guarantees whatsoever that you will be stationed in Florida.

First off all branches pay the same. There isn't a different pay scale for each. Second most branches will offer a sign on bonus if you go active duty for 6 years. that way when you get out of boot camp you will automatically be a E-2 or E-3 and most of the others will be a e-1. Also depending on your ASVAB score determines the job that you get and with certain jobs there is a bonus. HOWEVER it is very RARE that you get a job PROMISED to you during your sign in/pre enlistment process. You get your job assignment during boot camp. (you fill out a sheet with your choices ranked in preferred order and then you get whats available) All branches give you opportunity for college, you must pay into your MGI bill first and complete certain objectives related to your job.(out of your first checks..$50 a check for a year=$1200 total.) Join the military to explore and not to stay at home. Have fun but be smart. You are serving our country. I was in the Air Force and loved it, my husband did the Navy and loved that too! Have fun!

You need a diploma or GED first. After that take the test, see how you score and go from there. Make a choice. Get the school in writing. Don't sign the contract unless you like it. You can go to school while in too. Many locations have college classes on base at night.

Once you are in they (all branches) will send you were they need you. Period. End of story. It's called the "Dream Sheet" for a reason.

Personally, I would either recommend the Air Force, Or the Marine Corps. The Air Force has some of the best learning opportunities and there are plenty of USAF bases everywhere. The USMC will give you the work ethic to make you strive in anything you put your head into. But, every Marine is a rifleman. unless you decide to be an officer *preferable* you WILL have your face in the muck. i love it. enjoy.
