I take Dynecine, same as Minocyclene... That usually does it for my break outs. Drink lots of water, don't touch it, and as for the wash regime your doctor gave you, those can be kind of harsh. If your talking about the medicated wash. Those burn my skin bad.

I stick to Cliniques number two bar of face soap. Or their foaming face wash. And their basic yellow face lotion. I also use Retin A micro. It works, and use sunscreen when you go out.

Today I got my first chemical peel to smooth my skin. This too helps break outs and may be covered by your insurance as it was mine. Try this...

As for the now, just take the minocyclene, and lots of water, don't skip any doses, and get rest. Stop stressing! Calm, soothe your self. I am sure you will have a blast... And your pics will be just fine.

And wash with luke warm water, no harsh rubbing, and more just pat it dry. I feel for you, but it will get better...

Stress and lack of sleep really break me out... And also cleaning up my diet has done wonders... I eat lots of fish and veggies, water, and fruits... It helps really...

Hello, sorry to hear about your problem. You did not specify whether you are male or female but from your name I can assume you are a girl? Sorry if I got that wrong. I have often suffered with cystic acne for most of my life and I am now nearly 32 so I understand what you are probably going through. Fortunately there are many products on the market now that I have found to be effective. I would recommend a face wash and toner containing salicylic acid. Make sure you also use a non-greasy light moisturiser as salicylic acid can dry your skin out which could make it worse when your skin overcompensates to the dryness by releasing more sebum. I would also recommend regular clarisonic facials. Bach Remedy Rescue Cream is very good for healing spots that are sore or bleeding. If all this fails, you should probably contact your GP and see if they can recommend some antibiotics that are specifically prescribed for acne and/or Retin-A. As a last resort, what completely saved my skin for years was going on the pill. There are some out there specific for acne like Dianette and Cilest. However due to your age, I would NOT recommend this quite yet, as taking the pill for many years ended up messing with my natural hormonal balance. Also, you probably won't like to hear this, but perhaps consider wearing your hair away from your face. I know it's a catch 22 situation but if you feel very self conscious about the acne, it might be worth investing in some good quality mineral foundation like Bare Escensuals which can give you a good coverage without exacerbating the acne. Good luck and I hope the problem is just related to your age and that it will just sort itself out eventually.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

had a friend who has cystic acne and the only thing that worked for her was to have a dr slice, mash, and drain the area and then to go on antibiotics...

...hope you find another way and have fun at the concert

It is only a guess, but I would try Neosporin w/pain reliever. It has helped me in the past (3-4 hrs at a time).

Dont know if this will help because I've not used it for that particular thing.........but ORAJEL!!!!!! the toothache medicine!! I use it for everything. It's great for splinters. It will numb it for a while, so you'll have to keep reapplying. But any toothache medicine should help you out.

Ice is the only thing I can think of dear heart that your doctor would approve of....get a bag of frozen peas or something like that....and then leave it, take it off, leave it on, etc....for five mins on, five minutes off. etc.

Should take some of the swelling down.
