Do you answer questions with an eye to providing real information and/or guidance to the person asking, or are you hoping to convert people to your way of thinking?
Do you provide facts, and give sources in your answer whenever possible?
Do you give your own beliefs as facts, or do you generally preface your answer with "I believe" or "I think"?
If you are someone who has no belief in a god, do you give hateful answers thinking you are being "witty"? Or do you acknowledge that just because you don't believe doesn't necessarily make something not true?
People's religious beliefs are the most precious and dearly held beliefs they have. Are you understanding when you deal with this topic, or are you a "class clown"? Do you worry about hurting someone's feelings, and do you think you ought to?
I'm curious about how people respond to this category...and why.
Thanks in advance for your answers!

ALL people have opinions. No can help.
Also have armpits and like opinions some stink.
People develop opinions by what they see when growing up, what they read and what they see.
Those opinions can get in way of truth.
Why? People like to think they are "correct".
Nobody like to admit they wrong. Got too much pride, carry big chunk of buffalo meat on shoulder.
Only people who keep looking for "new truth" will have open mind. Like scientist who keep trying to solve new mystery, person researching religion should never think they have ALL TRUTH. NO human can fairly say, "I understand whole bible".
Bah! Him been sitting too close to campfire covered with hemp weed.
When me have questions, me go to websites listed below, do search.
When me answer questions, try to use only bible not have my own opinion.
Check it out.........

I generally answer questions with sincerity, even if the asker is (as is almost always the case) not of the same religion. I consider myself quite knowledgeable on the subject, which is why I'm here.

And yes, I give sources and helpful links when I can. And I'm generally careful to word opinions as opinions and not facts.

I'm not looking for converts to my religion. My religion doesn't work like that.

>>If you are someone who has no belief in a god, do you
>>give hateful answers thinking you are being "witty"?

It all depends on the question. If it's clearly an insincere question (e.g. soap box posts, loaded questions, heavily biased questions), or practically screams "I have no clue what I'm talking about, and can't use a search engine", then I will fire away. If people think my witty answers (and I am damn witty) are "hateful", that's their problem. They're usually humorless types if that's the case. I can't stand the humorless.

>>People's religious beliefs are the most precious and
>>dearly held beliefs they have.

In other words, religion is a touchy subject. I don't know why people act so surprised when things get heated. Is this the ONLY on-line religion forum they've visited?

I answer the questions and provide my sources and real information. I couldn't care less about what others personally choose to believe, or whether they agree with me, or change their thinking.

This isn't a church or sanctuary. People who can't handle different opinions about their beliefs are in the wrong place.

If the question is obviously humorous, then I try to give a funny answer. If the question is serious, and I have some knowledge on the subject, I try to give a serious answer, based on what I know. If I have no idea what the answer to the question is, I'll usually read the responses, but I won't answer it.

Most of the answers are pushy and very narrow-minded. Now with that being said, every once in a while you can find some quality thoughts. You just have to do a little searching.

I'd say that about 70 percent of my answers are strictly my opinion. About 25 percent are when I actually know the answer. The other five percent are answered in fun.

According to many of the christians on this site the only legitimate answers are the ones that agree with them.
For me it depends on the question as to how I answer it.

A legitimate answer in any category is one that addresses the question.
Most questions posted are not true questions but are taunts or are pushing a point and not requests for an answer.
To those, I address as they warrant.

Drawing from your categories, I'd classify my answers as being of the "witty/ hateful" variety. If I really hurt someone's feelings, it is unintentional.

Most questions here are either jokes or rants disguised as questions. I answer them appropriately. I answer real questions with real answers.
