You are right on every count. I agree with you 100%.
One question though.... why do you care what anyone think? As you (already) know, your choice of mate is not the norm. For this reason, many people won't agree with you and will make insulting and hurtful comment, either to your face or behind your back. There is absolutely nothing you can do about this. As much as you are entitled to your ideas and opinion, and to seek your own happiness, so does everybody else. (how ever wrong their ideas may be) If you are trying to seek agreement from them, you won't get it. The best you can do is to ignore them and go your own way.

It's been too long and too many interracial relationships, biracial children for most people to still be worried about it.
I really think this question is about bringing attention to your relationship...because my grandparents were different races, my mom and dad are a black/white couple, I'm engaged to a middle eastern man, and about half of the folks in my religious meeting group are interracially paired off...
it's so common now, nobody really cares, I don't get flack from it at all, and neither did my friends...20 years ago, yes, but now?
