You need to see a doctor. There are other medications that are much safer that your doctor can give you. Most without getting dependent on them.

I've had the same issue. This weekend don't take it and see how long it takes you to get to sleep. About 30 minutes before your normal bedtime go ahead and get in bed with a good book or watch TV so that your body can start to gear down. I also put in ear plugs to block out sound or run my fan on high for white noise. If I can't get to sleep I lay there and try and get my mind focused on something such as a story so that I don't think about what else I could be doing.

Nyquil has benadryl and it is not addictive physically. Mentally it is up to you to stop. Ritalin and the other adhd drugs are what is keeping you awake. Don't take them any later that 8:00 am. The earlier the better.

I've found that Advil fixes any dependencies for me. Just take 3 or 4 of them an hour before you would have taken your problem drug, and then don't take your problem drug. It'll fee pretty weird for a few days, but after that you'll be fine, and there's no down side to stopping the Advil.

Have a Happy Liver! ;-)

the main ingredient in nyquil is plain ole Ethanol, like the stuff in Gin or Vodka.

It will take years to get addicted to a couple shots of nyquil.

A lot of people drink half a bottle of booze plus beer every night at college for 5 or 6 years and arent' even hooked yet.

Your 2 weeks of night caps with nyquil isn't gonna do anything to your brain, don't worry :)

Start by taking one less tea spoon a day. It's obvious that you are dependant on this drug, so going cold turkey may be very difficult. The best thing to do is baby step it and take one less tea spoon a day so then your body does'nt become so dependant on it, and you don't go into withdrawl. Secondly start focusing mentally that you don't need this drug, telling yourself routinely I dont need nyquil, I dont need nyquil

See if it's ok to find a tea you can drink. Yuck! and you drink too much of that stuff ...Nyquil is not for sleeping problems ew! Don't do that again.

http://www.traditionalmedicinals.com/ research & see if you can drink something such as this in the evening.

try other methods. ive had addictions like this and its not fun and you could sink fast. try a bath to relax you, candles at night to decrease sensations, earl grey tea with a skosh of milk and sugar... scent of lavendar, soft music. im a night person myself and have trouble sleeping, i take otc sleep aids but only when i really need them. nyquil i wouldnt really do unless your sick, because some day when you need it its not goin to do anything.

also, if it gets bad enough just ask your doctor. they have answers sometimes too lol

the best thing to do is if possible, take your adhd medicine early in the day, that way it is gets out of you system way before bedtime. then i would recommend to home remedies to cause drowziness like drinking warm milk or even some foods cause sleepiness, like turkey or cheese. i'd look into those.
