What is the PS3's internet browsing like?

Does it depend on your internet? Are there limitations? I am really interested...

Browser is good for simple surfing. It is not a substitute for IE, Mozilla or Opera. If you want to use it for mail - you'll have to get a keyboard and a mouse - using joypad for typing is a royal pain in the a@s. Some plugins are not supported at all. Advantages: no viruses and spyware.
However, you can install Linux on your PS3 and enjoy normal Linux browser.

Hi! i have had my ps3 for a little over 1 year... soo here is how it goes. You can have a www internet browser on the ps3 for free. Depending on the model of your ps3 you will either need an ethernet cable or a wifi. I have a 60gb so i use wifi. You can click the right thumstick to zoom and the left thumbstick to pan around the screen. Sadly the ps3 can not play java or real player yet! but... they are planning to add that on a sooner update. Updates are available on all ps3's although you will need some sort of an interenet source to update. It is possible to hook up other os to the ps3 (operating systems) the most common is linux, yellowdog, and fedora 5 etc. I do not have that as i fear that it will break down my system that i paid so much on. So i use the ps3 interent mostly to view youtube and it looks great now because you can zoom. When you get your ps3 you can add me on your playstation network my user id is:

Well the browser built in to the PS3 is not like a full fledged copy of IE or Firefox, but it works, brings up basically every webpage, does have some problems sometimes with flash animations, or anything quicktime related is going to be an issue, but other than that, it works.

well you cant do everything you can do with your computer but you can get on myspace and stuff so it is good but i will not get a ps3 just for that though
