My girlfriend has been in Monaghan Ireland for the past 2 months, and will be there 8 more months. I called her today, and she told me that she had made out with "a few" guys, and that it was something that was just common for teenagers to do over there in a night, and that everyone does it over there. I was just curious if she is feeding me a line, or if Irish culture and teen culture in Ireland is accepting of that, or what.

Teenagers in Westernised countries are a little .... well, I suppose the most appropriate word is 'casual' about these things. Irish teenagers are the same. She's not feeding you a line.

I know what your friend is saying. Basically not everyone goes out and ends up kissing some guy/girl but it would not be seen as unusual to end up kissing a total stranger on a nite and and forget about it the nxt day.
Ireland is a tad bit different to other countries like in the U.S where teenagers ask each other out on dates. This actually hardly ever happens in ireland.
Kissing someone over here casually i suppose you.d say is referred to differntly in different area- dublin you would have met or scored someone, some parts of the country youd have shifted someone it just all depends!!

oh pet wake up and smell the coffee. thats cheating!!! i'm irish and i have a boyfriend for nearly 3 yrs and i would not go to a club and make out with someone.its not an irish thing at all. i think thats just a line shes feeding u to ease her guilt.she probably thinks 'oh he knows i'm meeting other guys but he thinks its a cultural thing." dump her!! if someone is lying cheating and disrespecting you like she is lose them and be happy

Yes, that was fairly common where I grew up, meeting other teens and kissing them. It wasn't that uncommon to kiss a few different people in one night at a disco, or something like that. We don't have 'dates' here as such. Even so, your girlfriend should not be kissing or dating anybody else!

Does it really matter?
Do you and her accept this in your culture?
Hypothetically, if the two of you took a trip to the middle east, it is thier culture to have the woman completely veiled and walking at least 6 feet behind the man. do you think your girl would be accepting of this cultural change just because she is there?!?!?
You're being played buddy, tell her to stay in Ireland.

SarahJ is right but if its usually only if they're single. People's boyf/girlf's usually arent too happy if their see their other half with their tongue down someone else's throat. Doesnt mean its not done tho, but normally you wouldnt go telling!
