I applied for an interstate compact for my probation. How long will it take for it to go through? It's going from Montana to Tennessee.....

Well, any delay kind of depends on what your crime was and how long your probation is. Montana might be glad to be rid of you if your crime was despicable and violent and you have a long probation. However, Tennessee might not be all that thrilled to have you. The final decision rests with them. They may not want to tie up a probation officer to watch you for a crime committed in another state.

If your crime was non-violent and not particularly reprehensible, then Tennessee might be more inclined to allow the transfer and act in a timely manner.

As to actual time, hard to guess. Tennessee has a much larger population on probation and so it may take more time to find a slot for you. Hang in there.

INTERSTATE COMPACT IS BETWEEN STATES. THE LIKENESS OF THE OFFENSE HAS TO BE MATCHED WITH THE TIME LEFT TO SERVE BY BOTH PARTIES.

MONTANA TO TENNESSEEE FOR YOU AND THEN WE HAVE TO SEND AN INMATE FROM TENNESSE TO MONTANA TO REPLACE YOU.

IT IS AN INTERSTATE RECIPROCATION ONE FOR ONE USUALLY DONE. THIS IS WHAT TAKES SO LONG.
HAVE HAD INMATES WAIT FOR A MONTH AND OTHERS STILL WAITING TO GO (5-6 YRS)

activity and everlasting place of abode provides a shot at it, issues they'll evaluate is what your crime became, how lots time you have left, and how you have been doing on probation. Ask your PO approximately it and notice how they react, you have your answer in minutes.
