rrNope!
That's my story and I am sticking to it.
Christianity to me seems very unbelievable, yet atheism seems too easy.
(Hmm ducking my head...ready for the stones)
I love all my atheist friends dearly...
*running to lay low for a while*

This is a difficult question, because both Christianity and atheism are belief systems. Neither can be proven true or false.
Even if you were to somehow "prove" Christianity as false, there are still hundreds of religions that profess belief in one or many gods. Atheism is the belief that there are no gods at all.
With this reasoning, I believe that the answer is no, proving Christianity as false would not validate atheism.
However, if you were to somehow "prove" that every aspect of every mono or polytheistic religion were all false, perhaps then you can try to prove that there is no god(s).
I believe that a happy medium between the two would be agnosticism - the belief that the existence of a god(s) is unknown, and can never be proven either way.

While I personally have never read any books, it is really not necessary to read any books proving atheism or dispelling Christianity. I'm an agnostic, not exactly the same thing as an atheist, but the concept of atheism is simple. All one has to do to be an atheist is to: 1) realize that most, if not all, of the stories in the Bible that Christians believe happened are too silly and ridiculous to have actually happened. The truth is that the New Testament itself was written by people many years after these events had supposedly happened, meaning there is no way of proving its accuracy. 2) Realize there is no concrete proof or evidence that a God actually exists. 3) Based on reasons 1 and 2, conclude that there is no god or creator. That doesn't mean an atheist cannot be enlightened. Quite to the contrary, atheists are often enlightened as they are basing their lack of belief on the failure of religion to explain things in a logical way. If you need more information, I suggest watching the History channel on a regular basis. (At least finding the shows that pertain to new findings about the real Jesus and misinterpretations of the Bible.)

My gosh people. Atheism is not the opposite of Christianity! If Christianity were false, maybe Buddhism would be found to be true.

Christianity is false. But it doesn't make atheism automatically true.

no, there are many other religions too. You would have to prove they are false. Also, I don't think the best way to say it would be that atheism is true. A better way may be "religion is false" =D sounds more evil xD

True. I am surprised at the effort some atheist put into it. Skepticism seems the only reasonable source of atheism.

There are other religions besides Christianity you know. Even though Christians like to believe God revolves around them exclusively. Just because religion is man made does not mean there is no creator.

No.
I don't believe in the biblical monster anyway but I think there is a God.
If the Abrahamic god was finally exposed for the fictional monster it is, the world probably would no longer fight over religion.
