my friend had his motorcycle stolen, so should he call the police every week to see if they found it or do they call him

If your friend had already inform the police about his stolen motorcycle, then they will call you, if they recover it, call only when you waited a long period of time, but don't worry, they'll call your friend

Not always the case, just had a similar case and wasn't notified and just found that the car was sold at auction!!! Suggestions!! Is media the way to go?

no they recover stolen vehicles and keep them all at the station to play bumper cars and you think that they are still stolen and get money from the insurance company.
