I don't think it's a coincidence. Liberals and atheists are trying their hardest to get God out of everything and our country is filled with crime, divorce, gangs, immorality, and culture thinks it's just grand. Our country was great when God was put in the forefront.

Wolf...What is written all over our money? What is written all over our national monuments? Did you know our founding fathers had church at the US Capitol? Were you aware they had prayers before sessions? God was very much a part of America's founding. The first amendment only prevents a state-sponsored religion. You can practice anything you want and not be persecuted. That's all it means.

taking god did not invoke some negative reaction by your god. there has always been crime, gangs and immorality. if people were not forced to stay together there would have been tons of divorces. also the cause has more to do with overpopulation.
people are misunderstanding and not caring enough about rights. Freedom of religion does not mean god should be out of everything. It means that it should not be forced upon people. Futhermore they should be ALLOWED to talk about god. You mean back in the days of segregation, government backed racism? Back in the day when women had no control over their own bodies and couldn't get credit or car insurance in her own name?
Or maybe when a woman was villified for being "of lose morals" but it was perfectly OK for a man to jump any woman he wanted?
Or maybe when there were "white" drinking fountains and "colored" drinking fountains, separate schools for whites and people of color? Where lynching was considered fine and a white man could do anything he wanted to a black without fear of the law?
Maybe you mean back when Catholics were villified, Jews were discriminated against, Chinese, Mexicans, Japanese and other people of color and races were unable to find a decent job, go to a decent school?
Or even further back when women couldn't inherit property from her own husband but had to have a male designated as the trustee of "her" money. And, she couldn't vote?
It was WAY past time to straighten out our country. We are a diverse nation with millions of people - having different religions, cultures and traditions. This is not and never has been a white Protestant nation.
The Constitution protects EVERYONE'S rights, not just the "godly"....
God and religion belongs in the home and the church. It is a personal and private matter. Each person worships or doesn't worship the way he wants. Neither one have any place in the public pervue.

"American" (and friends): You've taken the name of the Lord in vain. Third Commandment, remember? Or are you so busy reminiscing about the glorious days of segregation, slavery, and women being treated like chattel that you do not get around to studying the tenets of your own religion? Oh, right, it's the liberals' fault.
Mark this well: do not invoke G-d in vain, if your faith is genuine, and you aren't just going through the motions taught to you by your mommy. That means, leave G-d out of your petty political squabbles and the whole conservative vs. liberal nonsense; and don't you dare assign a political stance to G-d.
At least, that's the logical way of looking at it.

Which time period are you speaking of? The time period when people owned Slaves and murdered my ancestors for their land? The time when Children were allowed/forced to work grueling hours in coal mines and the like? The time period when Women were not allowed to vote? The time period when my Grandmothers people were not even looked upon as completely Human? The time when one man (a black man) was not even allowed to sit down to eat with another man (a white man) Or the early to mid 20th century? When War and Technology put us on top? I believe that it is the 24 hour news that makes you think that all of this violence is a new thing. The population is growing as well. The more rats you put in a cage the more fights you will have.

Additionally, you really should look up what you're arguing for, when you had 'God in schools' you had more discrimination and segregation, lower education and overall public intelligence. Is that better shape in your eyes?

You know, Im a big fan of the separation of church and state, however it has gone too far. Most people do believe in a diety of some sort, adn most people call that diety their god(ess) so what is the big deal? The original intent was for the government not to establish a state religion, like the one our founding fathers escaped.

I agree, no coincidence! That's why there is a higher percentage of Christians committing crimes than atheists! There is a disproportional amount of Christians in prison (meaning larger than their share of the population at large). Oh wait, that doesn't work.
Lets blame the Negroes! Negroes have infiltrated everywhere! In our schools, in our restaurants, and they date our women! And we can't even hang them anymore! Oh the humanity! Maybe they are the cause of all of this?
