It veries: Some mature quicker than others. I was saved at 9 years old. Some become responsible earlier or latter. I knew at 9 years old about sin and the danger of it. And I understand that it was only through Jesus that a person could be saved from sin. I knew that the wages of sin was was death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

A person becomes responsible for their sins when they have an inkling that what they are doing is wrong and do it anyways. The level of understanding and the extent of defiance and sinning can really only be measured by God.

According to the bible, there is no certain age but I feel that as soon as a person realizes right from wrong and that he/she knows that they are responsible to God for their sins that it is time to be saved.

We are all responsible for sin at all ages. Sin is a state and condition as much as an act of commission or omission. In other words, we are not ever spiritually neutral. So, I don't believe in an "age of accountability" as many other Christian theologies do.

When they reach the age of reason, which means they are able to distinguish between choosing "good" or "evil" and recognize that they have made that choice.
Obviously, that age varies, but most kids are aware of these things by age 6 or 7, which is why most Catholic kids are initiated into the sacraments of penance and eucharist at that age.

Knowledge of God begins at the age of 4-5 years of age. That's when children are most cognitive and are taught by their parents.
