Does anyone else HATE this snide little comment? Because it's moot, it's beside the point. It has nothing of importance towards the pro-life/pro-choice debate.
The only way that statement would hold ANY value, would be if my was still pregnant with me...which if she was, I certainly wouldn't be here typing.

I've used that argument almost 8 months and is valid for both pro choicers and pro lifers.
Your last sentence validates the importance of that so-called snide comment.

I suspect it might put abortion in perspective to some extent. I mean arent we all glad our moms didnt abort us? At the same time, both sides of the issue have thier own little jabs..you know like the one about well are you ready to adopt a bunch of kids if youre pro-life. Both sides have an agenda and both sides have their little scripts in my opinion.

A lot of peoples arguments are that it is better to have an abortion than grow up unwanted. That statement is far far more idiotic imo.
Go down to the local orphanage and tell them they would be better off dead right now.
lyvl it is not the same thing at all
until a fertilized egg is implanted into the uterus it actually has zero potential of developing naturally into an infant.
After it has the natural development, if left alone, is to become a full grown infant. You would have to have something or someone actually stop that process for it not to become a fully developed infant.
You dont have to do a thing to stop an egg or sperm from not becoming a child.

Actually, my mother wanted to. She was a Roman Catholic at the time though. Anywho, I agree. Keep the emotional stuff out of the pro-life/pro-choice debate.

Hello Boobah, there is a meaning behind this question, you know what it is. It carries much importance, as it is saying, aren't you glad that your mother didn't abort you, so why would you abort. It is what is considered food for thought. It is very much Pro-life, just as I am. Did someone have an abortion, and can't handle it now??? Does this someone feel they must attack Pro-life??? Sounds like it to me!!

I'm no more glad that my mom didn't abort me than I'm glad that my Dad didn't squirt his DNA contribution out during a masturbation session or my mother sent her DNA contribution out during her monthly menstrual cycle.
The potential me was growing in her body as a fetus, and before that the potential me was split between an egg and a sperm living inside my parents. There's no magic moment in which my life began, except my birth. (That's why we issue birth certificates instead of conception certificates.) Until then, my mom had the right to do what she wanted. I would no more enslave her to me than I would enslave myself to someone else.

Pro-lifers exist in a emotional neither world. They equate a collection of cells with a baby. I always find it so ironic that these same people have no problem executing adults or say attacking another country (with a different religion) and killing millions for no reason.
I guess that's why the fear appeals of the anti-abortion lobby sway them so much.

Thing is, if she aborted me, I wouldn't care because I wouldn't have existed anyhow.
Pro-lifers should also ask male ejaculate and eggs that pass thru menstruation the same question since they were "potential children"
I'm sure the stuff won't give a damn or answer.
