Tea alone will not make you lose weight. However, it is healthy and can help (especially green tea) if paired with a healthy diet and exercise plan.

I don't think that there are any studies to really confirm that, but I did hear that drinking green tea after you eat lunch or dinner helps to speed up your metabolism, which later results in possible weight loss.

What I think is that people who normally drink tea will typically have 2-3 per day....so this means 2-3 glasses of water on top of whatever else they drink. The more water you drink, the more it cleans out your system, and in turn, at least what I feel, the more you lose. Win Win situation!

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

There are some teas which aids in bowel movements, and are commonly called dieter's tea. Green tea also works great although some say it doesn't do much for them. Here's an article about tea and weightloss:

I hope that helps.

Some can have that effect but usually not like magic...some clean you out if you know what I mean and if you drink too much when your system is not used to it you may not feel well and need to stay close to the toilette. If you drink it in moderation both white and green tea have anti oxidents can be cleansing and can help along with a healthy diet and physical activity.

GREEN tea does seem to make people lose up to ten pounds. If you look at all the appetite suppressants ( hoodia et al ), they invariably have "green tea extract" as part of their formula. It is likely it acts as an appetite suppressant although it might have some effect on metabolism, as well. It does not seem to work for more than ten pounds, however.
