next week ill be going on a military exercise where we will have to carry out exercises and at the same time defend our camp from "hostiles" what are some traps that i can make for warning us off approaching forces and slow them down
note: these traps arent actually allowed to hurt anyone (as they are our instructors) but would like to to annoy them and warn us during the night of "attacks"

Rat traps with trip wires and chem-lights. Attach the traps to the back side of trees, rig it so that a tripwire will release the trap, allowing it to strike a chem-light placed on the trap. The trap will break the lite, acting as an early warnng device. Good luck

You forget about posting guards on the perimeter???
Light discipline. Sound discipline. Guards on duty. If you use the rat traps mentioned those would be your fake claymores. If you set trip wires in this environment you might be observed doing that.

trip wires or even fishing lines with some empty cans (making noises) work pretty well in my time! (but beware those fishing lines might actually hurt someone)
