Federal Direct Loans. You can start applying in January for the upcoming school year.

Start with a federal stafford loan, check with your school for more information. DO NOT GET A FEDERAL DIRECT LOAN, unless this is the only type of stafford loan they offer and this is the school you just have to go to.

any loan through fafsa you should not have to pay until after graduating.
