There is a lot of bad advice on this one.
Alcohol is only partially absorbed in the stomach. The majority of it passes to the small intestine. So any alcohol still in your stomach when you throw up will not enter your blood stream. So how much alcohol is still in your stomach? That depends. If you have been eating while drinking, you will have a higher percentage still in your stomach.
If you are throwing up after drinking, you either consumed a lot, or you are doing it on purpose. But let's say that you had dinner at 7, and it's now 10, and you have had six drinks in that time (two per hour). Not enough to make most people sick, I wouldn't think, but maybe. And you finished the last of your six drinks 20 minutes ago. In this scenario, I would expect that you have pretty much absorbed all of the first 4 drinks, and most of the firth. The sixth is probably 20% absorbed in your stomach. So if you chuck it all up, you are probably expelling about 80% of one drink. And 5 and 1/5 are still in your system. Not enough to pass a breathalyzer, not enough to prevent a hangover, not really a good reason to induce vomitting...

Well it depends what you drank. If you've never had alcohol before and start drinking heavy liquor, yes you may throw up. Especially if you don't eat something with it.
Most of the time, alcohol comes out of your system is a couple of ways. One is through your lungs, hence the breath test. The other way is through your bladder, which is why you need to go to the bathroom a lot more than usual. Depending on your alcohol tolerance, it metabolizes differently. If you also eat food with or before ingesting alcohol, it allows it to metabolize more efficiently from your body, without really throwing up or having adverse side effects.

Well, if you throw up immediately after you drink, then your body would be less likely to absorb all the alcohol.
It gets absorbed almost immediately thru you mouth, saliva and stomach lining. Just because there is a lot of alcohol in your stomach when you throw up say 2 hours later, doesn't mean you didn't get the entire affect.
It's like eating a sheet of acid. The acid is on the paper, or sugar cubes or what ever it was put on to eat, and you start tripping in like say 30 minutes, the paper, or "host" is still in your stomach not fully digested yet.
You can throw up that paper, but you are still tripping, because your body absorbed the drug.

When you throw up, it doesnt mean all the alcohol is out of your body. Your body metabolizes alcohol at a rate of about .015 Blood Alcohol Concentration per hour.

Well, alcohol is freely soluble in water, so even if you vomit after drinking, a portion of what you drank will still remain and continue to be absorbed...
