Of course you can drive a LHD car in the UK.
Unlike in Iraq, (see driving in Bagdad on Youtube!), driving down the wrong side of the road, is seen as illegal and is frowned upon.

You can own a left hand drive car here in the UK, a lot of people do but if you try to drive on the righthand side of the road you would be arrested if you survived long enough. So own and drive lefthand drive car by all means but stick to left hand side of the road.

no its not illegal to own one...you have to follow their driving rules.. if you are in the military you have the option of taking cars with you overseas..while in japan they drive on the opposite side of the road as the us..there were many people who had their american cars over there and a few brought back to the states their japanese cars..we have had friends take their cars with them too europe

You can legally own a left-hand drive vehicle.
However, you must drive it on the left side of the road, unless you are one of those stupid Yanks who mistakenly think they own the world.
