My twin girls are 1 yrs old and I'm ready to potty train them. I thought it would be easy but i couldn't get them to sit still. My mother says that they are not ready yet. But I think other wise.
I really want to potty train them early because most people I know wait to long to potty train their kids. My nephew is 2 and he is not potty train and he so tall he looks 3 or 4. I couldn't see myself changing my kids being that size. what should I do?

I know people are saying their too young, which they are to be fully pottied trained. I have a one year old myself, she has learned to take off her daiper when its wet, or if i get one and she's wet she will lay down where ever she is and wait to be changed. So she hates to be wet and i think they may know when she needs to go, because she will stand still while peeing or pooping. So i'm not trying to potty train her but i'm getting her use to the potty. Not everytime i go to the bathroom but once or twice i will take her with me and sit her on the potty sometimes with a daiper sometimes without while i'm peeing, i explain to her mommy is using the potty. Now when i go to the bathroom she will usually follow me, so i don't think it will be much longer before she wants to go on her own. My son was over 3 before he would potty train, its really up to teh child not the parent. They can't do it until they are ready and know how and when to go. So be patience and for now just introduce the potty, let them take the lead. They'll tell you when they're ready.

Your girls are WAAAYYYY too young to even think about potty training them. You need to wait until they are at least 2. They don't even have the verbal skills to alert you to the fact that they need to go potty. So what if some kids are tall and still wear diapers or pull-ups? You always wait to potty train until the child is ready not the parent. Trust me I know from experience. I have 3 daughters (one of which is 1 and I can't even imagine trying to potty train her). Enjoy the fact that they are still babies and stop pushing them to grow up so fast.

it varies on how old a child should be before you potty train but one is just to young. give it more time. i helped my sister with her twins and i understand better than most what it's like times two. (did i mention that there are 2 sets of twins in my generation and 4 in the next!!)
don't be surprised when the time comes if one potty trains before the other. try giving them something special when the time comes for a job well done (a sticker or their favorate snack) and then only give it to then when they go potty that's what makes it a reward.
by the way iv'e found that girls train before boys for the most part but still give it a little more time

1 is way too young! My daughter is 2 yrs 4 mths and was trained within a few days when she was 2 yrs 1 mth. It was so easy then because I took my cues from her and she basically trained herself. At 1 yr old she wouldn't have been able to tell me when she needed to go and even at two when she was first trained she could only hold on for the shortest time before she would wee, whether she was on the potty or not. I have noticed over the last few weeks that she can hold on quite well so I don't even bother reminding her to go now she just tells me when she needs to go. The idea of toilet training didn't even enter my head when she was one!

The best way to potty train a one year old is~~~ wait until they are old enough.
Who cares if your nephew looks 3 or 4, he is still only 2 and is probably still too young
Kids can be potty trained at different ages but your girls are showing VERY CLEAR SIGNS that they are not ready for it yet

You don't potty train your 1 year olds! That is rediculous. They need to be around 2 1/2. They most definetly are not ready. Wait! If you do it too soon, then they might get it (however I doubt it that young), and then regress because you did it too young. My aunt did it with her children too young (twins) and one of the boys was almost 4 because he went backwards with it. Do not do it this young, in the long run it will hurt you more.

1 is really early, and while SOME kids are ready that early, most aren't. And pushing them will only make it harder to do. It's normal to START potty training your children between ages 2-3, with children being completely potty trained usually by 4. One is really really early.

1 year old is too young for that. Most are close to or over 2 by the time they get potty trained. My daughter was 3 1/2, and she proved to me that you can't force them to do it, because that is one thing they have absolute control over. Listen to your mother, she has been there and done that. If you couldn't see yourself changing diapers for 2 or 3 years, you shouldn't have had kids.
