Especially, when they have NO proof! It's stated that people couldn't remove debris because the "environmentalist" wouldn't let them?
What's even more pathetic is that the liberal media is trying to show all the negative aspects versus the positive aspects... i.e. all levels of government are working together...

Now that the cause of these fires is arson, I wonder when they catch this person, if he'll be a nutty global warming believer.
I have no doubt that a believer would set fire to a forest, kill dozens of people and blame global warming for their actions.

Well, possibly one reason is that the panel on Climate Change identified increased severity of forestfires as a symptom and here we see it happening. Now I agree, after the fact fitting to a model is suspect but when something is predicted and it happens this starts to support the hypothesis - the whole premise behind scientific method: develop a model, predict a reaction, observe to see if it happens. The fires in Greece and So. Cal are not typical and both have occured this year. Its hardly evidence yet but another couple of years of this would go a long way in "proving" global warming. That being said, a much longer trend is required and fires have so many possible causes that I would look to other symptoms like the fact that the Arctic ice mass is about 50% of what it was 20 years ago - now that one you can take to the bank along with receding permafrost.

Well, there is no proof that environmentalists stopped debris removal. And it's not true, just a right wing lie.
In fact, there is a law in California that requires removal of brush around people's homes. Landowners often disobey the law. And scream if the government tries to enforce it.
Homeowners in these areas have often underestimated the risks involved, and have not taken appropriate actions to protect their homes. Environmentalists had nothing to do with it.

Maybe because a year ago researchers were warning about this very thing.
"November 14, 2006
Fire crews, land managers, ecologists and others need a better understanding of how global warming is making wildfires more frequent, bigger and more destructive, thousands of researchers meeting in San Diego agreed yesterday.
Their statement, issued at the Third International Fire Ecology and Management Congress in San Diego, was part of a grim declaration that called for new approaches to living with wildfires as constant companions.
“We're going to see more fire, not less,” said Robin Wills, president of the meeting's sponsor, the Association for Fire Ecology. “These increases . . . are going to be part of our new reality.”

Maybe you need to check your sources or maybe you are misunderstanding. No one says the fire is caused by global warming (they suspect arsen in at least one case), but the fires sure do contribute (deforestation and CO2 emmissions).
