He doesn't exist. Bad things happen to everyone. Life isn't perfect and never will be.

If you are genuinely interested, try reading "when bad things happen to good people." Great, short book about just this subject. If there is a God, and if that God allows or makes or lets awful things happen to good people, that isn't a God I would think were all powerful or all loving. Thus, either there is no God or God cannot control bad and good things that happen on earth. I don't believe that, if God could control things on earth he wouldn't jump in and save the starving child, the abused child, the cancer victims, the fire victims, etc. That is just not a god I would choose to believe in.

EASY BASIC ANSWER:First of all God gaved us free will therefore everything that happens is because of our poor choices. But what if a poor/innocent family loses their home? What did they do to deserve something like that? Well God is not always the reason for an unexpectable happening, sometimes the prince of sin has an Ace on the table meaning he wants you to blame God for the happening. God also test your reaction towards an undeserved situation to see how well you do, or if you are strong in Faith. Live in/with Him and everything will turn out to be smooth...!

Evil and suffering is not a disproof of God, but a constant reminder of our need for the perfect God of the Bible (2 Cor 1:8-9).
God did not create a perfect world. The more perfect exists alongside the perfect. Nature has both constructive and destructive forces. Physical good will always be mixed with physical evil until creation reaches perfection. God created the world in a state of journeying so that we could be his co-creators in perfecting our world.
Suffering is a call to love one another. It is also our ticket to heaven. Much of the evil and suffering in our world is due to our failure to heed the commandment to love one another. Our love not only heals and nourishes those who suffer but also redeems us. Suffering then is a necessary part of life because without out it we would effectively be like spoiled children not truly loving God out of our own free will.
“We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” – Romans 5,3-4
That is why God does not seem to interfere in our lives. He has a plan for to get us to heaven and he does not want to make changes in that plan unless something goes wrong. But we certainly can (and should) pray that this plan includes the special favors that we ask of Him. His plan takes into account all of the free-will choices that we make, including how much we pray and how diligently we try to follow His commands. By all means talk to God all the time about a happier life here on earth.

My, but that is the question of questions, isn't it?
The fact is that god doesn't let anything happen to anybody. things just happen. We live in a world where random events occur and their effects continue to reverberate all over the world. If you get cancer, it's not because god is "allowing" it, it's becuase it's just the way the world works.
Try to look to the bright side of all things if you can but realize that you can't blame God for things that happen in this world.

"because you touch yourself at night"

I believe God is deeply saddened by tragedy, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone? It's funny to me how people can bash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Bad things happening to good people is not God's fault, it's man's fault.

Bad things happen because of sin in the world. But the good news is that God can and will deliver us from every evil when we accept His son Jesus. This is why Jesus came and died, to set us free from the effects of living in this type of environment. He can heal our sickness whether it is mental, emotional, physical, or even spiritual. He is a good God

God is not responsible for the bad things that happen to people. PEOPLE are responsible for what happens to people. It is because of man's sin that bad things happen - NOT God. God gave every man a free will to do with what he/she wants, but if people use that free will to do harm and evil to others, it is the person who is responsible for their actions - not God. God is not the author of sin - Satan is. Satan is the father of deception and sin - NOT God. God is not to blame for the wickedness and sin that people commit against each other.

All bad situations are an opportunity to learn and grow. Just because a situation is unfortunate doesn't mean it isnt for the best. I'm not a Christian (I'm actually more into the zen/buddhist philosophy) and I believe that all those unfortunate things happen for a reason.. Humans are strong, and we persevere.

Society and the environment - which are both factors of "humanity went and screwed things up" are to blame for bad things happening...not your God...

The Tallest Trees
The tree that never had to fight
For sun and sky and air and light,
That stood out in the open plain
And always got its share of rain,
Never became a forrest king.
And folks who never had to toil,
Who never had to win their share
Of sun and sky and light and air,
Never quite knew the Greater Plan
But lived and died as they began.
Good timber does not grow in ease,
The stronger wind the tougher trees.
The more the storm, the greater strength.
By sun and cold, by rain or snows,
In trees, or man, good timber grows.
Where thickest stands the forrest growth,
We find the Patriarch of both;
And upwards reach towards the stars
Through broken branches, touched with scars
Of many winds and much of strife,
Here is our strength and hope of life!
-AUTHOR UNKNOWN
".......No, that trauma you faced was not easy
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into his likeness you'd grow......... "
Cast your cares upon the Lord, for he cares about you.
