Hi. I have a question about my daughter. She is 10 years old and I believe that her breasts may be "budding". However, you can only see them occationally (kinda like when a person's nipples are erect and you can see them through a shirt), but I'm pretty sure that they're not just erect nipples because they appear to be a bit wider and almost softer looking than erect nipples. But what confuses me is that they will go away after about a minute, just like erect nipples do, and she will look completely flat-chested again. What is this? The onset of puberty or just erect nipples? Also, what occurs first, the growth of pubic hair or the growth of breasts?

My daughter had "breast buds" at the tender age of 8. One side started before the other. I actually took her to the doctor to get this bump checked out! The buds didn't develop into breasts for a couple years. When she got her first bra two years later at 10, she was only a 32AA. The first pubic hairs didn't sprout until she was about 10. In her case, the breasts came first.

I was 10 when I started getting breasts and I don't remember having pubic hair yet. Get her a soft training bra or a sports bra. I wore a bra before all of my friends did. In the beginning you barely have nipples so I don't think they are erect nipples. I just think different posture and lighting can show off the "mosquito bites" more than other times. Have fun bra shopping!

I would say breasts, but it's different in most women.

Also, get her like a sports type bra. I'm 17 and I still wear these sometimes, because sometimes underwire just doesn't sound appealing. :)
