In the next 24 hours, show random love to somebody...anybody. Do not seek to give so you can get. Just love on someone. Then lets hear the reports tomorrow.

I do that all the time (pat on the back). No really. Just yesterday I found out that an eight year old student of mine is in pain, and his mother refuses to take him to the doctor. Not only that, but EVERYONE else knew about it, but did nothing! Instead of calling child services though (the mother is dirt poor, single, and uneducated) I took the kid to the doctor this morning myself. The tests come out tomorrow, and I hope it's nothing serious. I also talked with the mother, and told her I would tutor the child for free (he is dyslexic can hardly read) and now, the rest of the teacher suddenly found the whole affair interesting, and are chipping in to take the boy to a dentist to fix his rotting teeth. It seems to me that the boy is malnourished, I hope it is only that. It amazes me that some people think they can't make a difference!

When we step out, what do we step in?

So let me see: If I am a Christian living in America of European descent, I could replace everything that defines me with Buddhist in Vietnam of Chinese descent. Do I need to change gender?

Love is an emotion as well as a relationship. Random loving someone is something human beings can't do. We love everyone, but we also love the ones we are in contact with.

If you are in love (emotion), religion, culture, ethnicity and even gender doesn't matter. For if it did, you are not in love.

Answer: If you think religion, culture, ethnicity can be altered in order to love, you stopped loving the most important person, yourself.

I did my "something"
A family in my town was chosen to Extreme Makeover/Home Edition. A friend and I went to volunteer.. we waited 8 HOURS just to get to the work site.
We volunteered for 2 nights and it was so fulfilling. It was such an amazing experience and so wonderful to be a part of something that is blessing a family in need.
Today was the "unveiling" and I stayed home and watched it on the news. It was worth having a tired back and bones to see the looks on the families faces when they saw their new house.
God Bless!

Your on Sawyer, and we'd like a report from you too...? *smile*

Report, actually I did nothing much different than I would anyway if the opportunity arose.
Though this morning, I did say I'm sorry to some-one, even though I wasn't in the wrong.
I had already forgiven them anyways.
If i can bless someone, I will and often pray for the opportunity to.
So that was my day! And my every day, *smile*.

It's rewarding to see the positive feedback to this. It's not surprising, given some of the personalities who frequent this site for purposes unknown, to see some of the crass answers. sad for them. Good for the rest of you. Try and make this a goal for every day, those who don't. Oh, and BTW, the Universal Laws of Connectivity and Oneness state that we are all simply refelctions of aspects of each other, which, if you take the time to reason that out, means i am the boss of you. How's that for smart a-s-s?

I tried that all throughout the latter sixties.

Didn't make much difference, though. Made me feel good for the moment. But society, in general, didn't seem to benefit much from the selflessness we flower children demonstrated.

Guess I could try it again. I'll let you know what happened tomorrow.

(Don't tell anyone, but that's why I hang out on Answers)

There is a woman in my apartment complex who is mentally ill, and has no family in the immediate area. She is very lonely, and so I have her over for coffee every morning. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy her company, but sometimes I have other things I could be doing. She is also very short, and her mailbox is up high, so I check her mail for her every day. These are just small things, I know, but it helps to brighten her day.

It's called "Random acts of kindness & selfless beauty"

& I do it regularly. Coins in meters, opening doors for strangers. A favourate is to step back for an elder with a smile and a "Beauty before Youth" (instead of the "Age before Beauty") really makes people's day.

Lots of fun.

It is good to see that humanity might still have some who will put others first and do the next healthy thing. Those who cannot do this, make those who do put others first more aware that we can be kind and gentle. Thank you for trying to get others involved with kind caring gestures.

It is not necessary to step out in a true religion. In my religion which is a true chritian religion, there is always random love for everybody, even our enemies. We don,t expect to gain something and we desire for salvation to others and we always extend love to all humans with prayers that someday, God will call them to join us to the right path to heaven.
