Take the risk! Seriously, who cares what your ex thinks. He broke your heart. Defiantly don't do it out of revenge, but if you like him and he likes you the maybe something good could come out of a relationship with him... maybe something wayyy better than yours and your exes relationships.
Good luck!

I think it's a pretty slippery slope to try to date your ex-boyfriend's best friend. Because they're such good friends, you're going to have to see your ex sometimes, and that might not make things very easy for the new relationship. The best friend might also feel like he has to choose between you and his best friend. Take a little bit of time to think about it. If it's what you really want, you should go for it.

If you really do like him, don't let it bother you.
My cousin was with a man for several years before breaking up with him. A friend of his approached her afterwards and told her that he had feelings for her, it was the only reason he had kept up with the friendship. They are now happily married with 3 children.
Her ex did try to make trouble, even telling her he would gatecrash and ruin the wedding - he didn't. It was his fault they broke up he was cheating and had a child with another woman.

what sort of pal might you be in case you all started relationship a similar guy or woman who broke your pal's heart? it is surely shallow and you'd be dropping a friendship on a boy that doesn't even relatively sound worth it. I surely have a rule to never date every person that my friends have already dated. it relatively is in basic terms off-limits. i'm in basic terms so at a loss for words as to why you would be wanting to date somebody who became "relatively recommend" on your pal. How egocentric are you able to be?

It might seem like you're getting back at him, but if you really like your ex's best friend, then go for it! You only live once and if you let someone who could be your true love slip through your hands, then you wont be happy.

If you actually like him go for it. It may be awkward at first but then you will get used to it.
